Publisher's Summary

I can’t believe that I pulled my boss’ name for our company’s annual Secret Santa tradition....

As the devil incarnate, this infuriating, cocky bastard never gives us the holidays off, and he honestly expects us to be grateful for his generous alternative: The Office Party.

It’s a mandatory, all-expenses paid trip for two weeks at a surprise luxury resort - where we still have to work 12 to 15 hours a day.

I’m so over this....

So I put zero percent effort into his gift. I tear the tag off whatever my sister gifts me, add a five-dollar Amazon gift card, and hand it off to him.

It’s not until my sister sends me a text that I realize how terrible of a decision that was.

Georgia: Why haven’t you sent me a "LOL" about the brand-new vibrator I got you? I really do hope that you use your boss’ face as a muse, like my note says.

If that’s not bad enough, this year’s "luxury trip" will be in my hometown - the place I've avoided for years. At the resort that my grandmother owns....

If the universe gets me out of this, I will never "regift" anything ever again....

Erin Mallon

The worst narration ever...I have yet to finish ANY of her stories, that is how painful her voice is. I was looking forward to the story, but was immediately all ruined by her DRAGGING the sentences like a ten year old reading a diary.

Fun story!

Fun story! An annual destination office party. Sounds like it would be loads of fun. Wish my office party was this creative and lit. LOL!
A short listen and Joe Arden & Erin Mallon were both fantastic in their respective performance.

Loved twice over...

I read this book when it came out in kindle unlimited and absolutely loved it. There is not many books by this author that I do not like, even if she only releases a book twice every two years!! I really wish that she would get it together and release more books. Before she loses her fan base. Anywho just a little rant. 5 stars for me ❤

Great "I hate my boss" holiday quickie!

I absolutely loved this holiday novella. Sure, it wasn't enough, but I'll take pretty much whatever Whitney writes. Her office romances are great.

Garrett, the company CEO, and horrible Christmas Grinch. Savannah, advisor to the CEO. Garrett works his employees very hard, and yes he's not so popular w/all the work he demands. But according to him, he pays them better than other companies, and it doesn't seem that anyone is leaving. Garrett and Savannah have an adversarial relationship, but under all the layers of snark, unreasonable deadlines, awful dates and boyfriends--they seem to be friends. Ask them, and they'll both deny it.

Garrett has this annual tradition of a two-week Christma party. It's mandatory, and there is a LOT of work expected to be done during this time, but it's an all expenses paid trip to a luxury resort. A beautiful, decadent, and wonderful work retreat. I really liked the concept of this, and how employees see their bosses and coworkers. Also, how the relationship between Garrett and Savannah slowly unfolds. Not a lot of shockers, but an enjoyable read during a sucky year. I wish it was longer, but enjoyed it nonetheless.

Erin Mallon and Joe Arden do an amazing job narrating Savannah, Garrett, and all the others!

cute enough

I am curious why Erin was the narrator when the cover of the book pictures a woman of color. Not very good casting.

It’s the looney toons arms race of hate- flirting

Sweet sassafras, that was fun! Two executives verbally sparing like cats and dogs…or rather like Wylie Coyote and Sam the Sheep Dog. It’s all diabolical insults and workplace scheming, each one topping the next… and yet they know there’s actually something special between them. But this is Whitney G, so we’re not talking Wylie and Sam going for beers at the work whistle; this is sizzling flirtation that leads to naughty, hawty nooky.

The nooky is more mainline compared to Whitney G’s usual sexy shorts, but that leaves room to up the comedy even beyond the Assholery report in Naughty Boss. Don’t let the cover fool you into thinking this is a cozy holiday novella, however. This is flirty, dirty, and mouthy.

Minor quibble: Given the luscious black Savannah on the cover, and the attention to her black family and culture (with nods to Spellman University and the black sorority AKA, with its pink and green colors), you’d think a black female narrator would have worked great… or Jennifer Hudson, this would have been outstanding with Jennifer Hudson or Gabrielle Union narrating. Erin Mallon has fantastic comedic timing, but I found it impossible to think of Savannah as black and kept picturing white Erin Mallon.
