Publisher's Summary

In Danielle Steel's stunning novel, modern relationships come together, fall apart, and are reinvented over time, proving that age is just a number.

Eileen was happy to set aside her own dreams to raise a family with her husband, Paul. Together they built an ordinary life in a Connecticut town, the perfect place for their kids to grow up. But when Eileen discovers that Paul's late nights in the city are hiding an affair with a younger woman, she begins to question all those years of sacrifice and compromise. On the brink of 40 and wondering what she's going to do with the rest of her life, is it too late to start over?

Meanwhile, as Paul is thrust back into the role of suburban fatherhood, his girlfriend, Olivia, is in Manhattan, struggling to find herself in the shadow of her mother, a famous actress, and her grandmother, a fiercely independent 92-year-old artist. With their unique brands of advice ringing in her head, Olivia takes a major step, expanding her art gallery business internationally. Seeing her mother pursue old dreams, and even find new love, Olivia realizes that there is so much she must learn about herself before committing her life to someone else.

Ultimately, Eileen decides to chase her own dreams as well. She's off to Paris to attend a Cordon Bleu cooking school. What awaits is an adventure that reinvents her life and redefines her.

At every age, there are challenges to be met and new worlds to discover. In this surprising, illuminating novel, Danielle Steel gives us a warmhearted portrait of people driven by their emotions, life experiences, and loyalties, who realize that it's never too late to turn a new page, and start again.

Age is only a number

Loved this story. It reminds you you can get through any of life’s challenges no matter what your age.

The Numbers Game

The story here started off nicely. As I continued to listen, I thought I’d read it before; but only because of some of the same story situations sounded familiar to other pre reads. Soon after moving on, the book became more interesting and I was happy that the story went in an unpredictable way. A good read.

Vintage Danielle Steel

Yes, it's corny and rooted in fantasy. But the storyline engaged me from the very beginning until almost the end. Another guilty pleasure!

Not good at all

Weak characters, and story. No substance or diversity!! Disappointing and very old fashioned. Get in the 21st century

Not unique, but interesting enough.

Most of it was pretty predictable, but it did hold your interest enough to finish it.

A Bit Shallow

Some of the characters were not very likeable. Decent character development however, just weren't written as people with strong constitutions, rather weak. Overall, I did enjoy the story, just not one of my favorites.

Age is more than a number

Thought provoking but rather predictable. Pleasant diversion. Many characters to follow.
Many worthy of their own story.

what a waste..................Can't believe I bought another Danielle Steele novel, thinking it might FINALLY be good.........it HAS been a long time. Well, the narration sucked and the story was so predictable and boring..........couldn't finish and returned for my money back!

Not one of her best.

I love Danielle Steel. I’ve listened to all of her books and recently she’s been even more prolific, publishing six a year. She has a talent for producing absorbing family stories and feel good endings.
This one is ok but not one of my favourites. A quick listen with a brilliant narrator, but lacking something. Too many characters perhaps, so that I couldn’t warm to anybody that much.
Nevertheless this story kept me company and although I won’t be revisiting “the numbers game” I am already looking forward to the next DS novel.
