About this listen

Brought to you by Penguin.

Two sisters have always stood together. Now, they're the only ones left.

In the shadow of Mount Hood in the US Pacific Northwest, 16-year-old Tennant is checking rabbit traps with her eight-year-old sister, Sophie.

The girls are suddenly overcome by a strange vibration rising out of the forest, building in intensity until it sounds like a deafening crescendo of screams.

From out of nowhere, their father sweeps them up and drops them through a trapdoor into a storm cellar. But the noise only gets worse....

Loved this book especially with multiple narrators and the story was out there but if you think about it is very interesting. I watched a movie like this but it was only one girl.💜

brilliant story

The female reader’s way of exaggerating and dramatising made all female characters appear slightly dumb and historical. Overall, the way this was read is best suited for a haunted house story for 9 year olds.

Other than that, it’s good

The female reader is a disappointment.

It didn’t seem like a James Patterson book. Not sure how much was actually him. I was engaged throughout and looked forward to continuing so I guess it was good but the last few chapters didn’t really satisfy.

Interesting idea but carried too far

I did enjoy this book, it makes one think of the possibilities of this happening, as we are so reliant on the Internet now and that the internet could be turned into a tool is frightening!

Frightening

The audible version of this book is fantastic. Performance of all narrators were exceptional and the sound effects were brilliant.

More a horror story. prefer his suspense novels, crime stories and Women's Murder Club.

Not his usual type book.

Not sure whether it was because it was an audiobook and not reading it but I just didn’t get the usual awesome feel I get from JP and co. This is only the third audiobook from him so that could be the case. The other 70+ I’ve read.

Massive fan of James but not one of his best.
