Publisher's Summary
Emily Parker has a busy life over which she maintains iron-clad control. Raised by drug-addicted parents, she’s used to taking care of the people around her, to the exclusion of her own needs. But not tonight. After years of celibacy, she’s ready to pay for exactly what she wants: to surrender control, by having it taken away. Having worked as a high-priced escort for years, Nat Swayne not only enjoys her job - she’s damn good at it. Dangerously sexy, she knows precisely how to fulfill the fantasies of women who enjoy her special brand of make-believe - all without ever becoming emotionally involved. When their night of intense play turns into something more, Emily and Nat can’t help but pursue a connection in the real world. Unfortunately, old habits die hard, and love isn’t always enough.

Very different Butch/Fem relationship
What did you love best about The Night Off?
Both characters came from difficult backgrounds and have seemed to rise above most of the horror in their past. What makes this a bit different is that the Nat (Butch) seems to get heart broken. In most stories it's the Fem who's crying her eyes out. In this case it would be Emily.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Night Off?
*SPOILER* When Emily realizes that she can't control her sister anymore now that she's no longer a minor. She can't use the excuse to deprive herself of happiness.
Which scene was your favorite?
*SPOILER*When Colleen breaks in on Nat and Emily thinking that Nat is raping her older sister. It's a very emotional moment in the story, and a pivot point to say the least.
If you could rename The Night Off, what would you call it?
"Trust, and you can find Love"
Any additional comments?
First the narrator (who I really enjoy) Alexandria Wilde, she is wonderful with erotica, and romantic stories and is great at voices and emotions. She can express passion and heartbreak, orgasm, and everything in between. She really made this story a very good listen. She also can change her voice so you know which character is speaking. That can be really hard when you have several female characters ranging from teen-age to mature woman in her 50's. This was a very different type of love story that started out as a paid ESCORT encounter, to a passionate love.

Nice Story
Emily Parker is a drudge; she hasn't had a date in so long she can't remember the last one. She has cared for her younger sister and has her prepared for college and between that and earning the money it takes to keep them both going she hasn't had the time for a social life. So after a few months of saving she has the money to rent her dream woman for a night. Nat Swayne has been a lesbian escort for several years and is as unfamiliar with emotions if not sex as Emily is. One night of magic leads to a relationship that is all either has ever dreamed of until Emily's sister walks in on an encounter she misunderstands and Emily does what she's always done; she puts her sister's needs before her own. A very nice little story with some sexual scenes that are really well done. This is the type of book that Meghan O'Brien does; and does well on a regular basis.

heart stopping, mouth watering!!!
What made the experience of listening to The Night Off the most enjoyable?
every single word spoken, every movement made, my skin was on fire. Emily and Nat were amazing in and out of the bedroom. I must admit, I tried listening to the book at work and I had to stop, waited until I got home. The book was just full of too mush action for my poor body.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Night Off?
There are so much but I really loved when they were at the restaurant and Nat was attacking Emily's body under the table while the waitress went and came to them. Poor Emily had to sit and take it without a sound so not to awaken anyone's suspicion.
Have you listened to any of Alexandria Wilde’s other performances? How does this one compare?
This is my first book by her. Surprisingly she sounds a great deal like Abby Craden whom I love listening to dearly so it was a great first listen. Looking forward to more of her works.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes. I couldn't stop listening to the book, i didn't go to bed until i had finished the book. Really wanted to know what Emily would have done to get back Nat and it was worth it.

One erotic story.
This is a story that is exactly what it seems from the summary. It's erotic but unlike some of the stories out there this has slightly more to the idea because it does revolve around the story of how the two main characters begin to feel about each other, and where that leads.
Unlike some stories that disappointment me because they seem to promise much more plot but deteriorate into erotica and lose focus of the story, I wasn't disappointed because I was expecting this to swap that premise around and be erotica based around a plot.
If you want anything more than that don't be disappointed because this doesn't lead you astray with the summary.

A great erotic female romance, well read novel.
Firstly praise to the narrator for being prefect.
This book is erotic, sometimes explicit, but never out of context.
It's a romance without unnecessary male protagonists or unbelievable plots that detract from its story. Each chapter leaves you wanting the next, makes you care for the characters, unlike some drivel that is written for the sake of it.
Wish it was longer actually. Would've loved a few more chapters.
One of the best narrators I've listened to, I've discarded so many audio books because of terrible narration.
I recommend this book, albeit short, it's worth it.

Boring
This is listed under Contemporary Romance section, but after 2 chapters, there's just sex scene after scene with very little character development. Fast forwarded to chapter 4, still more sex. This should be moved to erotica for teenagers. I won't be finishing this disappointment of a "romance" novel. The narrator was great, shame about the book itself.

Way better than expected.
The cover lets it down a tad because this is a very well out together steamy romance novel. So eloquently narrated for American too, I actually really enjoyed the accent. The story is plausible and character depth was just deep enough for me to get into. The story of the scene was best of all, the attention to detail was perfect and the clear focus of the book. A very enjoyable book.
