Publisher's Summary

A man awakens, adrift in deep space, with little memory of who he is - only to discover that he is the commander of a space mission; the rest of the crew is gone; and he is apparently a writer of some small renown named Neil Gaiman.

The Neil Gaiman at the End of the Universe is perfect for fans of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy and Black Mirror. It stars Neil Gaiman as... well, you know, and Jewel Staite (Firefly; Stargate Atlantis), and is written by Arvind Ethan David, executive producer of Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency.

Please note: Proceeds obtained by the producer from sales of this audio project will benefit This Is My Brave, a nonprofit organization that seeks to break the stigma of mental illness, alcoholism and substance abuse, sexual assault, eating disorders, and more through the power of live storytelling.

I liked it

Interesting short sci-fi story which benefited from Neil Gaiman’s narration. I thought the multiple narrators played well off each other.

Close your eyes and listen picture the words

Love books that have effects close your eyes while listening to the book and try and picture the motions of what he is reading if that makes sense

Cute

A cute short sci fi story with elements of meta. But nothing of major substance… makes you more interested in a story about a WHEN WOLF

Not a keeper

Even for free, and short as it is, this is a waste of time. I don’t know how they persuaded Neil Gaiman to do the audio but even his competent reading does not save this. And IMO sound effects don’t improve an audiobook, they detract from it.
