Publisher's Summary

Tearoom sleuth Gemma Rose is looking forward to a holiday filled with delicious Yuletide treats, time with friends and family, and maybe even a "white Christmas" in Oxford. But when she's snowed in at a country manor, she finds herself stumbling on a puzzling murder, complete with a body in the library, a house full of suspects, and a trail of mysterious footprints!

Luckily, the nosy old Biddies are on hand to help, not to mention her cheeky tabby cat Muesli. Add in some carol singing, Christmas baking, and flannel underwear, and Gemma's stocking is bursting at the seams.

Can she solve this festive whodunnit in time to enjoy the most wonderful time of year?

Perfect Holiday Cozy. er...Purrfect

I had read the Kindle version and scooped up this Audible version. Same excellent story and great characters but with the addition of the amazing Narrator who brings the characters and Muesli to life made it a different yet equally enjoyable read. I had a choked up moment near the end when a certain shelter cat appeared. Thank you both for a wonderful holiday entertainment.

Great book for the holidays!

I am glad that a new book if this serie was released. It is my favorite cozy mystery series. I loved how Jemma has grown and is more confident in her detective skills and the old biddies participation made the book more fun. It was perfect.

BEST STORIES EVER WRITTEN!!!!!!!

So Delightfully Fun to have a Special Christmas story!! I Love every book and story you have written. Holding my breath for your new Garden story! I listen to all my books. Therefore I only get to know about the three....Tea Room...Chocolate...and Garden. I see you have some with a dog. I would love to be able to enjoy those!
Hopefully Pearl Hewitt will read them someday!
I am so spoiled by her amazingly wonderful narrating I have a hard time being able to listen to any other books now. I have hundreds in my library but now all the narrator's are terribly boring. I'm so hopeful you write Many more books and Ms. Hewitt will narrate them all!! I hope others will get her to narrate their books!!
Thank you for sharing your website. I have never been a "fan" of any author until I was fortunate enough to find you. Im 70 years old!! You my dear has brought a shinning light in my life!
Sincerely, Nancy

Not the best

I really enjoy these books, usually. This one was good but it seem like something was missing. As usual Pearl Hewitt gave an excellent performance. I know they can’t all be great so this will not keep me from waiting for the next book!

The Mousse Wonderful Time Of the Year.

I loved this book!! It always amazes me how Gemma comes up with the killer. She goes through 3 or 4 different people before she finally gets it right. The amazing Old Biddies are always in the thick of things and somehow manage to get a few things right. And the 🐱 always is in the thick of things and makes me smile every time she meows. This is the 10 book in this series that I have read and I thought this was the best. Looking forward to reading more of this series. Love the Audible books the most especially the narrator.

Always a pleasure!

This series just gets better and better! The mystery, the desserts, the fun and interesting characters... I can’t get enough of HY Hanna’s Oxford Tea Room Mystery series!! In addition to the lovely novels themselves, she couldn’t have found a better narrator than Pearl Hewitt, whose accent and tone set the stage perfectly for this series to come alive in the most comforting and delightful way!! And, as a lover of Christmas, I particularly enjoyed this addition to the series. And this book gives me hope for more romance in the next installment! <<crossing fingers!!>>

Delightful story full of holiday mischief!

The Mousse Wonderful Time of the Year is a delightful Christmas story full of holiday spirit and mischief. It is the 10th book in the Oxford Tearoom Mysteries series by H.Y. Hanna, which features Gemma Rose as the owner of an adorable tearoom in a tiny Cotswolds village near Oxford University.

In this book, Gemma’s little tearoom is asked to cater tea and cookies for a children’s party at a large mansion. Due to a winter storm, Gemma and a few others are invited to spend the night. As she has a habit of doing, Gemma discovers the dead body of one of the family’s estranged relatives in the library. She then proceeds to solve the mystery of who did it, despite the assistance of the Old Biddies (four octogenarians who frequent Gemma's tea room).

Pearl Hewitt did a wonderful job narrating this audiobook. She provides varying voices for all male and female characters, as well as animals. Pearl shows enthusiasm and excitement in her narrations, which is perfect for a comedic cozy mystery like this one. I really hope other listeners discover what a gem this series is!

wonderful

A lovely, mystery, series with quirky characters, a likeable heroine and a clever cat. This one is set at Christmas but it will be enjoyable at any time of the year. The story is reminiscent of an old fashioned house party murder mysteries of Agatha Christie ilk.
I loved it.

I voluntarily reviewed an advance reading audio copy.

Exasperation Limit Reached

I quite enjoyed the first few of these. They are easy, demand nothing of the listener and were relaxing. I should have stopped when she started getting on my nerves really. Does anyone actually believe she once held down a high-powered job? She's totally exasperating.

The mousse wonderful book of the year

I enjoyed this book. I read the book and loved it so jumped at the chance to get the audio book version, so glad I did because it was just as good as I remembered it. The mystery was good but it is the family gathering for the Christmas day lunch which was so memorable and I still chuckled even though I knew was going to happen.
Gemma is asked to cater for a children's Christmas party at a grand estate, along with her cat Muesli .The pair us surprised when the old biddies turn up as the the entertainment in the form of signing carols. But non of them was prepared for the prodigal son to be murdered on the very night he returns from the dead. Worse still is the fact that with a heavy snow storm set in for the night they all get trapped in the house with a killer. With Devlin away visiting his mum for Christmas Gemma falls under investigation when officer Pratt finally turns up. Leaving Gemma and the old biddies no choice but to to investigate, even if there help is seen as more meddling than helping.
I think this is one of Peral Hewitts better performance and think she did an excellent job of spreading the magical cheer around in this book.
I was given this free review copy at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Not one of the best

I think this was just to be a little Christmas story so I shouldn't expect much. Story was rather dull. Started off ok but just sort of faded. I didn't try to guess the perpetrator. Personal stuff and ending obvious.
