Publisher's Summary
Things are eerily quiet at Gemma's quaint English tearoom, and she can't understand why - until she learns about the trendy new "tea bar" that's opened on the other side of the village. To her horror, she soon finds her customers being stolen and her business the target of sabotage. Meanwhile, her mother's newfound obsession with all things Asian means a whole new world of fluffy footwear and hazardous dinner encounters. But Gemma has bigger problems than trying to eat with chopsticks when the ruthless rival tea bar owner is savagely murdered and she is considered the key suspect!
Now she's in a real pickle, desperate to clear her name. And with her detective boyfriend accused of nepotism and under suspicion, Gemma is forced to tackle the case on her own. Luckily, she can still count on the help of the nosy Old Biddies, while the naughty antics of her tabby cat, Muesli, uncover some unexpected clues too!
As Gemma delves into a mystery where "East meets West", familiar motives arise, despite the difference between cultures. But with a full menu of suspects - from the aggrieved dentist with the strained smile, to the belligerent chef who lost everything, and not to mention a pair of estranged sisters hurt by the ultimate betrayal - she discovers that solving this case is no piece of cake....
Bonus: traditional tea egg recipe included at the end of the story!

Disappointing
Excluding the ending which was a disappointment of its own, this book in the series was very hard to get through. It lacked the usual lightheartedness with little in the way of weaving the Old Biddies, Muesli and the usual characters into the plot. However Pearl Hewitt, as always, does a wonderful narration.

Nice to be back in Oxford!
I enjoyed this latest entry in the Oxford Tearoom series. There's trouble at the Little Stables Tearoom, and Gemma and her friends are in the thick of it. As always, there's a murder, a plethora of suspects, some great food, interesting characters, and the beautiful setting of Oxford. What's not to love?
Well, for one thing - the "Old Biddies" have gotten way too raunchy. Their inappropriate (and unnecessary) comments were definitely on the downside of this otherwise fun story. And Gemma still hasn't learned that lying, aside from the fact that it's wrong, won't improve her relationship with her boyfriend.
On the plus side, there was an interesting storyline involving Asian culture and foods. The mystery held my interest, the characters were well drawn, and as always, the book was well written. A beautifully described afternoon when Gemma takes a walk through the city of Oxford was a highlight for me, and really made me want to see it for myself.
The audio version was a pleasure to listen to. The reader, Pearl Hewitt, has a wonderful gift of being able to voice all the different characters uniquely - even Muesli the mischievous cat! She switches effortlessly between different accents, and is an outstanding narrator.
I would like to note that the Audible website states: "Recipe included" - but in fact, it is not in the audiobook which was a disappointment to me.
Overall, (with just a few negatives) "Wrongfully Infused" was fun to listen to, and good escapist fare.
I would like to thank the author for the complimentary copy of this audiobook which I received in exchange for my honest review.

Oh how I missed these books
This is the first time I've actually listened to an oxford tearoom mystery book and I have to say I wasn't disappointed. If anything I may go back and listen to them all now.
I had read the book previously but listening to it puts a whole new outlook on it. I love the way Pearl Hewitt really gets into character and you can visualize exactly what is going on. The book is well written with a thorough story line and leaves off a little unpredictably which I really appreciate.
If you're looking for a intriguing cosy mystery that makes you want to curl up with a cup of tea and a scone then this is the book for you. The book will have you wanting to listen constantly to figure out who the murder is, what trouble gemma and the old biddies are getting into next and what's going on with gemma and devlin?

So good!
I was absorbed into the story right from page one.
After finding out about a tea bar that opened across town causing the Little Stables buisness to drop Gemma and Cassie go to scope out the competition. Little did they know the owner was a real piece of work set out to ruin the Little Stables.
I loved how fleshed out the characters are in the story. I also liked getting more of a look at what it's like for Devlin when Gemma and the old biddies get involved into cases.
In all I really enjoyed the story and didn't want to stop listening. It felt like visiting old friends.

Love My Oxford Tea Room Adventures
Gemma is such a mix of that British stiff upper lift and yet so ready to tackle any situation, and it is no different in this outing as she works to save her business and solve the murder of her new nemesis. This time, she goes it alone, at least without Devlin, but with plenty of tips from the Old Biddies. Oddly enough, her mother helps with some of her business woes, along with Cassie, of course. Great fun and challenging mystery. I only gave it 4 stars because I am not a fan of character upheaval. Let's just say I need resolution in the next book.

This is by far my favourite book in the series!
Fair play to H.Y. Hanna, this was a bit different to the previous books in the series, but my god was it good, I laughed out loud a number of times. This was excellent I binged it in two days. Pearl Hewitt is a joy to listen to, I think she is brilliant and brings the characters to life. The old biddies are amazing, especially in this book, some of the things they say are incredible! The ending was really good and very refreshing, I liked it very much, I have wanted to see an ending like this... I'm not going to spoil it, but yes I want to see more authors do a story like this. What I would like to see moving forward is for Gemma to mature and grow, especially to start standing up for herself. I hear the way people talk to her and treat her, sod em, Gemma should not very politely tell them to go away or in regards to her mum, put her in her place, and the old girls. She should say something like;
"Right, if you lot break into this house I will call the police and watch them arrest you and hall you away, don't think I won't!" "Gemma you wouldn't" "Oh yes I would, and I will watch it all happen with a big smile on my face!" "Gemma, that's just mean..." "Well listen to me and you won't land up being arrested and put in handcuffs!" "I've never been put in handcuffs before?" "I have, it was fun, we were role playing!" "Glenda, there is such a thing as over sharing!"

loved it. loads of fun
A wonderful series and another lighthearted mystery with Gemma, Muesli, and co. I really enjoy all the recurring characters and quirkiness they add to the story; Gemma's Mum being a favourite and Devlin too of course. A certain scene with Devlin had me laughing out loud there are plenty of clues for Gemma to follow and a few twists to keep us all guessing. Muesli helps along the way and the old biddies stick their noses in as well. It’s a lot of fun and I'll be sad when the series ends.

I used to like all the books written by H Y Hanna and narrated by Pearl Hewitt but recently I have started to think just how pathetic and needy the main chatacters are. No back bone what so ever.

I have listened to all the books in this series; this one was as lifeless as a flat Victoria sponge cake. All the usual ingredients were assembled: Muesli, the old biddies, an interfering mother, the police and several suspects, but the plot was weak and drawn out (too much padding). Devlin was even more chauvinistic than usual. Gemma should choose the nice doctor Lincoln instead. The narrator was brilliant, as always, but I found the occasional bad language jarring; it just doesn't work with the predominantly sweet, middle-class ambience. The ending was a bit of a surprise. I appreciate that the recaps are necessary for new readers, but they are a tad annoying. And please could the deep breaths and eye rolling (what is that?) be lessened.
Overall, it was disappointing; I had been looking forward to listening to this. Perhaps the author has exhausted credible story lines for this series.

A nice cuppa
I enjoyed this book on the kindle but loved it as an audio book, even knowing who the killer was I hooked. The author is talented enough to mix mystery with humour and does it in a way that is entertaining and keeps you guessing until the very last word. The characters are fun and like able and with the elderly sidekicks there is certainly some very funny situations. This is a great series and I think over time it has just gotten even better as we have gotten to know the wonderful characters and there quirky ways. The mystery was good and with plenty of suspects it worked well with the existing characters, I had guessed who the killer might have been but was by no means certain. There is a lot going on in the story but it is easy to follow, even if this is your first visit to the tea room. The ending also had me in shock, I did not see that coming but don't worry the mystery does get solved and it refers to the main characters love life, can't wait for the next book to see where things go from here.
Gemma is worried when she only has one customer in her tea shop. When she discovers a tea bar has just opened up on the other side of the village and with all the opening promotions running its got the villagers interest, including her loyal customers. Gemma and her best friend decided to check out the competition and quickly learn not everything is as cracked up as it seems, the food has a lot to be desired, its to trendy for a small village and the owner Azalea isn't the friendliest. When Gemma's tea room start to get bad reviews on the internet she has a good idea of who is behind it but can she prove it? Then at a community meeting her mother asked her to help at Gemma discovers the get together is being held at her rivals tea bar. Then Gemma finds Azalea body in the kitchen and becomes the number one suspect in her murder. With her boyfriend on the scene of the murder and his relationship with the top suspect he is taken off the case. With Muesli comforting the grieving family it gives Gemma plenty of opportunity to get to know the murder victim through her remaining family members but could one of them really have killed the ruthless business owner? The old biddies are also up to the challenge of clearing Gemma's name even if it's just distracting a young police office, giving Gemma the room to investigate. Can she find the motive and reason why Azalea died and with the competition out of the way is the tea shop saved?
I like the very talented narrator, who puts in an entertaining performance.
I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
