Publisher's Summary

The thrilling new romance from E. L. James, author of the phenomenal number one best-selling Fifty Shades trilogy.

London, 2019. Life has been easy for Maxim Trevelyan. With his good looks, aristocratic connections and money, he’s never had to work, and he’s rarely slept alone. But all that changes when tragedy strikes and Maxim inherits his family’s noble title, wealth, and estates, and all the responsibility that entails. It’s a role he’s not prepared for and one that he struggles to face.

But his biggest challenge is fighting his desire for an unexpected, enigmatic young woman who’s recently arrived in England, possessing little more than a dangerous and troublesome past. Reticent, beautiful and musically gifted, she’s an alluring mystery, and Maxim’s longing for her deepens into a passion that he’s never experienced and dares not name. Just who is Alessia Demachi? Can Maxim protect her from the malevolence that threatens her? And what will she do when she learns that he’s been hiding secrets of his own?

From the heart of London through wild, rural Cornwall to the bleak, forbidding beauty of the Balkans, The Mister is a roller-coaster ride of danger and desire that leaves the listener breathless to the very end.

Great read

Mmmm. This story started with a selfish man grieving not only his brothers death but the loss of his playboy life.
Along comes a woman with a troubled past and just one look has him wanting to be the best man that he can for her.
Narration was awesome.

Terrible book gave up at chapter 16

This book was so boring, there was no story to it at all, the same thing is repeated over and over again. The writing was also terrible. I was trying to give it a chance but by chapter 16 I was so over it, nothing was happening, it was so slow which is probably due to the repetiveness.

Inconclusive ending

So many questions left on answered. Who attended the wedding, what did Carolyn do, did his mother behave. What was their life like after the wedding. Did she become a concert pianist. Please tell me there’s a sequel?

Beyond repitisios and boring

Thought I'd see if this one was any better. Nuh
A weak immature character and a very poor story line.
She needs to give it up if this all she can write about

Awful, shallow dross.

It begins ok but quickly descends into complete rubbish. It’s incredible to me that so many copies are sold. Avoid.

Great Job!!!

Though it started a bit slow as the story progressed I enjoyed it and I listened to it non stop. I love that this is different with Fifty Shades of Grey, I was not waiting for the erotic scenes but the story on what will happen next and the suspense that I felt while listening to it. The narrators are TWO THUMBS UP. You made the book even better. Kudos to Dominic Thorburn, Jessica O'Hara-Baker.

GREAT

I think E.L. James has really hit the mark with this one. Love story with suspense and intrigue. The production of this audiobook is really good, especially liked the piano, the narrators Jessica O'Hara & Dominic Thorburn\ read the really well. To me an audiobook which is like a movie playing in my head is fantastic and that's what I got from this one.

I liked that this book was different to the 50 Shades books. I liked how Maxim and Alessia came from such different backgrounds it's a true love story of opposites attract worth a read
