When your life flashes before your eyes, where would you stop?

No one can change the past, but the Midnight Train can take you there.
The chance to re-live the moments that meant most.
To see what kind of person you really were.

For Wilbur his best days were with Maggie, the love of his life. On his honeymoon in Venice.

Before he gave it all away.

He wishes he could go back and live differently. But to do so risks everything . . .

A magical, time-travelling love story, from the world of The Midnight Library.

Oh this book crept up on me and then I too was on that Midnight Train, what a heartwarming, painful, self reflective, insightful and eye opening journey that turned out to be for both our main character and myself.

“But what if there are things I did wrong?”
“That, Old Bean, means you have lived.”

“The only way to learn, is to live”

Whilst it took me a good few chapters to get into this story and understand the real deeper message that was playing out but once I was in, I was onboard that train with our main character and it put me in all my feels, contemplating and reflecting through his journey and it left me thinking back on my own life and what kind of Midnight Train experience I would have and that really hit home for me and had me pondering and reflecting on so many good “stops” and so many bad “stops” I might experience and what I myself might learn from reliving those moments as an outsider and how armed with that I could change my life whilst I still have breath. Oh this book took my heart and left me in my own reflective therapy session, contemplating all the moments that have made me the person I am today and perhaps what I have or should have learnt and what I could or should change to be the person I want to be tomorrow.

“Live how the dead would, if only they had the chance”

I indeed hope to do this and am thankful to this book for reminding me I should.

A Christmas carol meets sliding doors. Reflecting on what truely matters in one’s life. I really like the narrator’s voice. Was a great story.
