I Love John A Heldt's books!
Book 2 of this trilogy has the Carson kids chasing their parents into the past. Visiting the past has it's problems, especially when you change the course of things.
One thing about these books, there is a historical event that coincides with the time the time traveler arrives, and this one doesn't disappoint. With a major fire and the first world war, there's an emotional ride...
Do they find their parents? Well, I can't tell you that.
This book was just as good as the River Rising book

Tie A Yellow Ribbon . . .
This volume continues the saga of a time-traveling family. If you read the books out of order there will be, naturally, spoilers in the second for the first, but each can easily be read alone and constitutes a complete story (with link rather than outright cliffhanger to the next). World War I is raging in Europe and the senselessness of trench warfare is certainly highlighted as the Carsons separate and participate in a number of the critical events of 1918. Students of history will enjoy the glimpses into the past; adventure seekers will appreciate the action and chase scenes; and the whole is rounded out by a bit of romance.

I love this series
I liked book one but I found that I loved the second book more. The author shows us the time they are in by the characters living the history. I have found that not all authors can do this well. I also love the family aspect of this book, it is one of the things I love about this series.
The narrator is great he suited this book and he voiced the characters out well.

GREAT SECOND PART TO A GREAT SERIES!
Excellent continuation of the first book in the series, River Rising. I definitely recommend this book and this series, it's very well written and beautifully narrated.
The time-travel adventures for the Carson family continues, they're still in search of their parents and find all sorts of love, danger and adventure along the way.
I'm drawn to this series, and will seek out and listen to move of John Heldt's work, very well done :)

Book2 Carson Chronicles 5 stars ***** more please!
Another excellent time travel story from John Heldt. Part 2 of Carson Chronicles is written well and the narration was excellent. I have 'read' (listened) to all of Heldt's time travel books and they draw you in and am left wanting the next book to continue the story of the Carson family traveling through time. After the Carson parents get stuck in time their 5 children discover what has happened to their parents and they go through a portal to the past to find them. The family story continues with book 3 and it can’t come soon enough. Absolutely recommended.
I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for this review.

Time travel with many twists and characters
I did not read the first book, so I am not sure what story lines occurred before this book started. At first it was a little confusing. There are many story lines in this book, all set in different parts of the country. I would prefer to follow each sibling though his/her story in one book. The ending left a little to be desired in my opinion. That said, however, I did enjoy listening to this story and would consider another of John Heldt’s books.
The narrator, Chaz Allen, would be someone I would listen to in the future. The narrators are a big part of the ones listening pleasure. The narration was excellent. It was an easy to listen to this book.
This is my honest unbiased review. I received a free copy in exchange for this review.
