Publisher's Summary
It is 1933, and a dead man has been found lying under railway arches in Berlin. An old soldier, hideously disfigured, he has been killed mysteriously.
Gereon Rath is brought onto the case while his fiancée, Charlotte Ritter, blazes her own trail. Meanwhile, the Nazis consolidate their hold on power, the Reichstag is burned down and things become a lot worse not only for Berlin’s Jewish community but also for those police officers who can remain in action.

I wish I could find more English translations
I love the Gereon Rath series, the interplay of murder mystery with history is compelling and makes for an enthralling listen/read

Gerion lost his ability to reason
Not sure why Gerion has lost his ability to think. To busy lying and cheating I suppose. Disappointed but thank god Charlie isn’t so stupid. Finding it hard to believe he is this stupid which of course is disappointing but otherwise excellent as usual. I didn’t enjoy this narration as much. They all sound Scottish not German and sometimes hard to tell what character is speaking but still a very good job. Love this series. Please keep writing more. Thank you.
