Publisher's Summary

The Keeper of Stories meets The Lost Apothecary in this evocative and charming novel full of mystery and secrets.

‘The thing about books,’ she said ‘is that they help you to imagine a life bigger and better than you could ever dream of.’

On a quiet street in Dublin, a lost bookshop is waiting to be found…

For too long, Opaline, Martha and Henry have been the side characters in their own lives.

But when a vanishing bookshop casts its spell, these three unsuspecting strangers will discover that their own stories are every bit as extraordinary as the ones found in the pages of their beloved books. And by unlocking the secrets of the shelves, they find themselves transported to a world of wonder… where nothing is as it seems.

Enid Blyton for adults

I haven’t felt the magic of a story like this since I was a young reader diving into the magic of Blyton. It’s an incredible story with a wonderful audio delivery from the three actors. I wish I could start it all over again. Cannot recommend it more highly

Magical fantasy for adults

I loved listening to this story, I didn’t want to put it down, each character had a mystery story to tell. I would be listening in the car with my teens. Just talking about what would go next.
This is definitely a story my grandmother would have loved to read or listen as an adult. It brought me close to my Nan by listening to the story.
I want to find the lost bookshop and go on the adventure.
Thoroughly Enjoined the book and listening to audio.

intertwined story of generations

a beautifully written and narrated story of opeline and her descendants. woven in books and the love of books, the story begins with opeline and jumps to Martha and Henry and unfolds as the story progresses... I love audiobooks as I can work while listening, but this had me sitting to hear the book play out...if I was reading it, I would say it's a book you can't put down!

An well written book that has refused to leave me. Sadness human fragility and hope. It awoke the child in me.

intense well written book based in reality embraced with magic that lifts you up and hugs you for weeks and months after the story finishes. Crossing 2 and 3 generations stomping in sadness and reality while carrying hope and both human fragility and strength ending with me, the reader with tears standing upright and applauding a story that I can call upon when I need some magic in my life. Well done.

Loved this book

Absolutely loved this story with its touching on characters woven from the works of booksellers, authors many of whom I’ve already read their stories.Jumping between the past and magical present. Highly recommended.
