Good story

The story was very touching. J Rodney Turner is a very good narrator. He makes the story come alive.

Good Story But…

The overall storyline and performance we good but it seams like this could’ve been done in about 25% less time.

Enjoyable but huge errors in narration

Although I ultimately enjoyed this story, there is one huge distraction that I couldn’t get beyond. The narrator is obviously talented with a great voice for this genre. However, whether the fault of the narrator or the producer, the mispronunciation of a key word nearly ruined the experience. It’s egregious and pervasive enough of an error to warrant, in my opinion, a re-edit of the relevant sections. I’ll never understand why pronunciations are not verified along the way in these audiobooks. The name of the Indian tribe Shoshone is not SHOW-shown; it should be correctly pronounced show-SHOW- nee. This is an enjoyable ride of a novel and I’ll likely delve into book two. But will have to set aside my disappointment in the lack of attention to critical elements.

Loved the book and story!

If you liked the Bonanza series, and other western TV shows, you will most likely love this book. Not as much gore as in other western series, much more interesting - full of drama but plenty of knuckle brawling, as well as knife and gun fights. But it was, to me, more about relationships in the old west. Such a pleasure to hear, and more so with J. Rodney Turner narrating.

another good one

the books are awesome made better by the narrator, J. Rodney Turner. Turner kind of ruined all the other narrators in this genre.

Cowboys and Gentlemen

Rugged cowboy excitement and the moments of tenderness kept me intrigued with the storyline. I enjoyed this book very much.
