Summary

From ARNIE to DOLLY, BLACKADDER to SCORSESE; GRAHAM NORTON to HARRY POTTER; the VAGINA MONOLOGUES to ZOOM, welcome back to the irrepressible and unstoppable world of Miriam Margolyes.

Packed with her wit, wisdom and unfiltered stories, The Little Book of Miriam is a memory palace of Miriam's extraordinary life's standout moments, opinions and conclusions. Never forget that this is a woman who knocked back WARREN BEATTY, played to an audience of TWO THOUSAND NAKED LESBIANS, injected sex into the CADBURY'S CARAMEL BUNNY and was VOGUE'S COVER STAR AGED 83. Miriam is always full of surprises and this book is too.

Deliciously dip-in-able, thought-provoking and mirth-inducing, elegantly designed and always interesting -- whether sharing daring declarations, behind-the-scenes antics or talking about the indignities of ageing, this is a book as unique and extraordinary as Miriam herself.

Editorial Review

A little book that’s big on laughs
It doesn’t matter who you are, it’s impossible not to love Miriam Margolyes. Whether for her trademark humour and unfiltered style or her accolades in acting and writing, Margolyes has also stolen hearts for being a “naughty national treasure” thanks to her fearless, candid and bold attitude. Whether it’s her interviews or writing style, there’s an undeniable honesty in her approach that is incredibly endearing. And by offering listeners a behind-the-scenes look into her world and once again lending her voice to the audiobook, The Little Book of Miriam is sure to be big on laughs and everything else we’ve come to love about her. —Michael C., Audible Editor

I love Miriam, but I wish I hadn’t been made aware of this one.

Miriam makes it clear that she did it for the money, but how much money does she actually need?

Some things said really turned me off Miriam.

Some examples, going from deep to just annoyingly contradictory:

Deep - she promotes openness on sexuality and normalising via conversation and questions, but then seems to change her mind and uses the example of her parents and holds a view that we should keep some people in the dark if the existence of gay people upsets them.

Maybe this wasn’t written in the order it ended up, and Miriam changed her mind during the recording / writing?

Less deep - she talks about wanting to meet as many people as she can, but also likes eating raw onions, saying it has the bonus of keeping people away, plus she loves farting and picking her nose.

Choose a lane: antisocial or interested in people without grossing them out 🤣

Scraping the barrel and contradictory
