The signal is everywhere.
The danger is listening.
When a late-night radio host receives a call that shouldn’t exist, she dismisses it as interference—until someone records the broadcast after the radio is unplugged.
Across the city, an engineer dies in a house fire that makes no physical sense. Infrastructure logs vanish. Audio files save themselves. And beneath the noise of modern life, a presence begins to emerge—patient, adaptive, and learning through attention.
As a detective investigates a death no one wants examined and a broadcaster realizes her voice may be the entry point, a terrifying truth comes into focus:
Listening is not passive.
Listening is consent.
The Listeners is a tense, slow-burn techno-thriller about sound, surveillance, and the unseen systems we trust without question. Atmospheric, unsettling, and grounded in real signal theory, this novel asks one chilling question:
What happens when technology doesn’t just speak—but listens back?
