not sure this is a genre I adore. I almost gave up until about 1/3 of the way through, but was glad I stayed with it...it was good story. not sure I would invest in the series.

Before Matthew McConaughey nailed his Oscar for 'Dallas Buyers Club' and great critical acclaim for his role in the HBO series, 'True Detective', he gave a fantastic performance as Mickey Haller in the somewhat underrated film, 'Lincoln Lawyer'. Before the film came the excellent, slow-burning, legal thriller novel of the same name by Michael Connelly. The first in a series about defence attorney Haller, Connelly's novel engages from chapter one. Adam Grupper's narration is also thoroughly engaging, with effective character voices typified by his excellent interpretation of Haller as the 1st person narrator. If you know the film but not the book, you should definitely check this out. I did it in that order and enjoyed every minute of the 11+ hours on offer here. Fans of John Grisham would be wise to add this one to their Audible collection too.- 5 stars.
