Even the deepest buried secrets can find their way to the surface...

Moments before she dies, Nicola's grandmother Betty whispers to her that there are babies at the bottom of the garden.

Nicola's mother claims she was talking nonsense. However, when Nicola's daughter finds a bone while playing in Betty's garden, it's clear that something sinister has taken place.

But will unearthing painful family secrets end up tearing Nicola's family apart?

Critic Reviews

Emotionally moving. A thought-provoking page turner with a poignant three-generational link (Jane Corry)
Gripping & utterly heartbreaking (Louise Jensen)
Linda Green gets better and better and this book is as absorbing as any a tale you will read this year. A masterclass in crime woven with authentic feeling and experience. We're in the hands of an expert. (Jo Spain)
Stunning, such a unique premise and really well executed. I got papercuts trying to turn the pages faster!
A tale of love, loss and sacrifice with the cleverest twist. Poignant and intriguing, unusual and lovely. I genuinely didn't want to put it down
Linda Green is bloody brilliant!
The story was authentic, absorbing and unputdownable . . . although I raced through the pages I didn't want the story to finish
The Last Thing She Told Me is packed with searing insights into family bonds and the agonising secrets that can divide generations of women. A real page turner

I really enjoyed the story and the narration was the best I've heard so far

Excellent story and narration

Tear jerkingly real.. secrets, lies and hurt because the neighbours will talk. Will strike chord with many listeners... highly recommend.

Poignant reminder of the old days..

I don’t know if the writer intended for the listener/reader to not be able to distinguish beyweein Irene and Betty and William and John, as a listener I found it somewhat confusing until about chapter 20 when things became clear.

This is a bit, or a lot, of a nothing story; no substance and all melodrama. I did not at all enjoy the whiney children or their emotional unstable mother and grandmother.

Melodramatic generational tale

A great listen and excellent narration. Very sad in parts but a very good story.
