In the ashes of her marriage, she finds the truth about his past and the courage to start again in...The Last Paradise.

Grace has the perfect life: a job she loves, a beautiful daughter and a rich, successful husband. But one night, when their world falls apart in a shocking disaster, Grace suddenly sees what she couldn't admit - her marriage and her husband are a fraud.

With the life she knew in tatters, she takes an assignment promoting the launch of a unique luxury hotel, hidden in a stunning, untouched oasis in the heart of tourist-crazed Bali.

Here, in this last paradise, Grace gathers the strength to take charge of her world. And, inspired by a woman's story from long ago, she discovers a path to a future she'd never dared to imagine....

Great story, annoying narrator

Not my favorite Di Morrissey book but very enjoyable. Unfortunately the narrators ‘snobby’ voice affected the warmth of the characters.

probably the worst narrated book so far

I did give it a go because I do like Di Morrissey's books and if I could get used to the narrator I may have persisted longer...however this actress was probably the worst I ever heard. The book is written by an Australian writer, story plays in Australia, narrated by an Australian actress yet she sounds like she was narrating a 19th Century book written by an English governess. It is terrible. I think I stop here, let's just say i was disappointed.

entertaining story, reading annoying

The reader makes the characters sound like they are always surprised and confused about the conversations. But the story is quite good.

Disappointing

I am a fan of Di Morrissey but I found this tedious and the main character weak and insipid. I could not finish it.

The narrator ruined this

I couldn't get past about an hour of this book due to the narration. She read the book like a whiny little child and it was most unpleasant. I want to read this book though - I think the story would be fine without the narrator. Shame really, as I love Di Morrissey.

Good story challenging narration!

Good story, believable themes and storyline.
My challenge was the voices used were often over enunciated and too melodramatic. Overdone!

Predictable and sappy

I enjoyed the threading of the true account of Katut Tantri throughout this book but the story was predictable and very long. The main character was unrealistic and too ‘perfect’ in every way, even her mother, daughter and bestie were faultless.
The narrator spoke so slowly I had to speed up the sound so I could bare listening. She also made Grace sound like a petulant child at times.

The last Paradise

Can’t even finish the audible because the narrator is so bad. It’s just ruining the story which I think could be ok. Such a waste of credit. I would recommend reading this rather then listening.

Very disappointing narration

I enjoyed my visit to modern Bali along with significant historical revelations. Morrissey researches her topics well and invariably advocates for those fighting for the environment and those big businesses exploiting our fragile world.
But this interesting book was seriously let down by the reader. In fact, it's a compliment to the storyline that I actually finished it.
The reader...oh dear. The narrative flow jarred as she paused between direct speech and the she said, he said etc....a narration sin! Occasional jarring misreading of the sentence structure. Painful dragging out of the narration. Ghastly American accent. Yet for all that, a lovely voice and occasional proficient voice acting.
