About this listen

From the acclaimed New York Times best-selling author of All the Missing Girls comes a suspenseful new novel about an idyllic town in Maine dealing with the suspicious death of one of their own....

Littleport, Maine, has always felt like two separate towns: an ideal vacation enclave for the wealthy, whose summer homes line the coastline; and a simple harbour community for the year-round residents whose livelihoods rely on service to the visitors.

Typically, fierce friendships never develop between a local and a summer girl - but that's just what happens with visitor Sadie Loman and Littleport resident Avery Greer. Each summer for almost a decade, the girls are inseparable - until Sadie is found dead. While the police rule the death a suicide, Avery can't help but feel there are those in the community, including a local detective and Sadie's brother, Parker, who blame her. Someone knows more than they're saying, and Avery is intent on clearing her name, before the facts get twisted against her.

Another thrilling novel from the best-selling author of All the Missing Girls and The Perfect Stranger, Megan Miranda's The Last House Guest is a smart, twisty listen with a strong female protagonist determined to make her own way in the world.

Not one of my favorite books due to the over explanation of everything .The tellers voice was mundane and lacking in passion . I wouldn’t rush to reccomend this one

Some good twists

I'm am honestly the biggest book ditcher, After 15 minutes if I'm not engaged I am done... and I literally could not stop listening to The Last Guest House! I listened to this 10-hour audiobook in 44 hours. It is thrilling, it is exciting and it has so many twists and turns! And the ending... I did not see that coming at all. It is shocking... my mouth literally dropped on so many occasions. It is just amazing! Highly ...Highly...Highly recommended!!!!!

I really enjoyed this reading - the description of the town and the townsfolk, and a completely unpredictable (well, for me anyway, and I feel I usually have a good nose for these things) twist at the end. My kind of book for sure

That twist!

I just couldn't listen to this book. The narration was so wooden, I felt it was almost automated. Might give the actual book a go instead. Can't comment on the story as didn't get far enough.

Couldn't listen to this.

I found myself rolling my eyes a few times at the “plot twists” which you could see coming a mile off. Disappointed as a Reece Witherspoon book club pick, I usually expect a lot better writing.

Unfortunately, quite predictable.
