The series, part of the Piedras Island and Veiled Intentions universe, is written in the third person and follows the unplanned adventures in the life and love of the disreputable Gabriel Karne.

Story was interesting enough, feels like the start of a much longer game and an intro to the characters in the story, being book 1. The writing is good, with good humour and I like all the characters. Christian has an amazing voice and is a very good voice actor/narrator. I actually found this book by seeing what other audiobooks he narrated, after listening to him read another series I enjoyed.
