About this listen
The myth of Deer Woman teaches a lesson on respect. The legend of Crazy Horse illuminates a lesson on humility. And the story of Eagle brings home the importance of compassion. These stories from the heart of Lakota culture and its survival, and their meanings, still resonate deeply with our daily lives.
Rich with storytelling, history, folklore, and Marshall's own personal experiences, The Lakota Way expresses the heart of Native American philosophy and the 12 core qualities that are crucial to the Lakota way of living: bravery, fortitude, generosity, wisdom, respect, honor, perseverance, love, humility, sacrifice, truth, and compassion.
Compelling and profound, The Lakota Way gives a fresh outlook to those searching for a new perspective on spiritual and ethical living.

"Marshall beautifully imparts Lakota wisdom...he certainly knows how to weave a story. An inspiring guide for a wide audience." (Library Journal)
This is the true way of all living things in this world. The Lakota way, like all Aboriginal ways, is an understanding of the truths of the Rarth & all living things.
So our (aboriginal) spirituality guides our decisions & actions based on how we are meant to live in this world. By doing so, it puts us in peace, in alignment, & in union with all living things.
It is a deeper understanding few are fortunate to obtain but those who do like myself, immediately recognise this is a book of the heart.
To most, They will see this as being uniquely the Lakota's way, but This is the traditional & right way of being for all Aboriginal people.
Sadly many issues are distracting, leading away, & destroying Aboriginal people everywhere on Earth. An attack on the very people who understand & ways of living was in accordance with the Earth.
That should deeply concern those who are not Aboriginal because attacking Aboriginal ways results in being able to attack the Earth, our home.
I'm Australian Aboriginal & this book informs me the ways of the Lakota are the Earth's way.
We live on the Earth, it has its own way & one would think it would make sense to live that way too, especially considering the Earth can do whatever it wants, but strangely & sadly, no, most do not choose to live the way the Earth does.
This is despite the fact that one only needs to observe how all the animals behave & live to plainly see they live in alignment with the Earth's ways.
Animals, insects & all living things live their life around & according to how the Earth operates, but the destruction if Aboriginal people(s) has continued a path of destruction upon all living things & an ultimately slow destruction if the Earth.
If you listen closely, you will understand the foundation of these stories is beginning from a place of Heart, & in alignment with the Earth.
Thankyou Joseph for sharing a book of Heart.
