About this listen
Catalina only made her deal with the demon because she had nowhere else to go. The world has kicked her every chance it got, so she’s all too happy to leave the realm she knows behind. What’s the worst that could happen?
She doesn’t anticipate being auctioned away to a kraken.
Thane is cold and distant…but he’s not unkind. Isolated as they are, Catalina finds herself seeking his company again and again. And when she finally agrees to uphold her portion of the bargain?
That’s when things get really interesting.
But she only gave the demon seven years, and when the time is up, she’ll have no choice but to leave behind the kraken who’s stolen her heart and return to the world that doesn’t want her.

I loved the smut but felt the relationship was rather manufactured
Tentacles good… relationship maturation poor

But this didn’t spark joy like the others, like i really liked the FMC even related to her a lot. She has really low self worth and a history of abuse and rejection and I honestly wish there had been a better more fleshed out healing process for her.
And thane our stoic male wasn’t really endearing tbh.
This book has been described as fluffy and all the feels and I just didn’t see that. In a 6 hour audiobook the first 4 hours are him avoiding her and inner monologging about his guilt about wanting her stuff while she’s pretty isolated, and when they do actually couple up we don’t actually see much of it it’s just sort of flash forward and they’re in love and “things have been so good”
Maybe if it had been longer or less of thane being distant or if I felt more resolution and healing for our FMC because I honestly think she kinda deserved better, his big sacrifice was giving up something he didn’t want and was going to give up anyway, that’s it. Other than that it seemed kinda bare minimum after such a terrible start.
Mr kraken is as cold as the water he lives in
