Story
They were seven children either orphaned or abandoned by their parents and chosen by legendary philanthropist and brain surgeon Dr. Vincent Capello to live in The Dragon, his almost magical beach house on the Oregon Coast. Allison was the youngest of the lucky ones living an idyllic life with her newfound family...until the night she almost died and was then whisked away from the house and her adopted family forever.
Publisher's Summary
Bouncing from bed to bed on the Upper East Side, Kingsley Edge is brilliant, beautiful, and utterly debauched. No carnal act or chemical compound can relieve his self-destructive apathy - only Søren, the one person he loves without limit or regret. He plans to open the ultimate BDSM club: a dungeon playground for New York's A-list that'll change the scene forever. The club becomes Kingsley's obsession - and he's enlisted some tough-as-nails help. His new assistant, Sam, is smart, secretive, and totally immune to seduction (by men, at least). Still, their combined expertise in domination can't subdue the man who would kill their dream. The enigmatic Reverend Fuller won't rest until King's dream is destroyed. It's one man's sacred mission against another's.
Contains mature themes.

Oh Kingsley
I knew I liked Kingsley for a reason. This book was awesome and so insightful. It really makes you understand Kingsley and Soren so, so, much more. I love how Kingsley and Nora are so similar yet they don’t even really know it. But Soren does.
This is also where Sam comes in and we learn a lot about her and I love this.
The narration I am starting to enjoy it. I like the FRENCH and the accent sooooo much. Oh, Kingsley.

✫✫ 5 Stars ✫✫
Kingsley was probably my least favorite character before this book. After this book I finally got him. His book gives you another side of the story and shows you his weaker softer sides. I was excited to finally get the story of Sam. And that ending.... LOVE <3
The narration again wasn't great for these characters but she was better than previous narrators. I have to say if the right narrators were use for this series it would be so much more popular on audio than it is.

LOVE Tiffany Reisz!
Would you listen to The King again? Why?
YES - it covered a lot of ground & made Kingsley more "approachable"......he wasn't my favorite character until now!
Who was your favorite character and why?
Kingsley, by far! I appreciate the internal conflict he has throughout the book & how he expresses himself.
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
I think I like Lilly Rhodes' narration in The Angel better.......but Ms Hart did just fine.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
The Naughty Emperor's New Clothes - your grade school story is all grown up!
Any additional comments?
Tiff - please keep up the series, or start another one. I love your writing style and conversation antics! Thanks so much for the entertainment (and education!! wink wink!!)

I LOVED TO LISTENING TO THE AUDIOBOOK AS MUCH AS I
Would you listen to The King again? Why?
HELLS YEAH!!! I read it before i listened to the audiobook and i'll totally listen to it again. I love Tiffany's book. I'm re-reading / re-listening to them all again and i'll arrive to the king soon!! very soon!!
What did you like best about this story?
Knowing Kingsley!!! He's been in my heart since i read the prince and now i love him like crazy.
Which scene was your favorite?
I loved when Soren said "I love you" to kingsley in danish. Soren was so proud of Kingsley, so did i!
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Yes! Every moment when Kingsley was so vulnerable, so heartbroken, so lonely, so desperate :'(
Any additional comments?
When I finished reading The King for the first time, I felt like something was missing. I felt like my best friend, who I fell in love with, was gone and now I was alone in a very dark room. I felt nostalgic and I wanted my best friend back. That’s how I felt when I finished reading this book. And then, 2 days later, the audiobook was out, and I was extremely happy about it because I would listen to his voice, listen to his sexy French accent, listen to his memories directly from him. I was so ecstatic. And then I knew the audiobook was narrated by a woman, so I got confused. “Why would they do that?” I asked Tiffany, she told me she didn’t decide on those kind of things. The only thing I could do was to get over it and enjoy the audiobook, so I did. AND I LOVED TO LISTENING TO THE AUDIOBOOK AS MUCH AS I LOVED READING THE BOOK.
I have to be honest, it was hard for me to understand the French accent, but not because it was a bad narration, but because it was perfect. Elizabeth Hart does speak in a flawless French accent, or any other accent. Her Welsh accent for Grace was beautiful. Her Texan accent for Justin was brilliant. Her British accent for Felicia was strong and intimidating. Her Australian accent for Lockie was sexy as hell and her British/American accent for Søren was just perfection. She did amazing in the narration.
By listening to her narration, I could feel all the emotions, the longing, the angst, the ache in Kingsley’s heart. It was heartbreaking. Feeling all those emotions that Kingsley was feeling made me cry, and also made me love him more. I could also feel the pride of Søren for his friend/brother/former-lover. It was beautiful to read how Søren was so worried about Kingsley, and it was more beautiful to see how he didn’t give up on King. Not one time. Not even for that week when they didn’t speak, Søren never gave up on King and always believed in him. One of my favorite parts in the book was when Søren welcomed Kingsley to the kingdom. It was a real resurrection for Kingsley. Søren brought him back to life, and not to just keep living the life Kingsley was living, or wasting, but to a better life, with a purpose. Another favorite moment in the book was in the opening party of the club, when Søren lied to Kingsley about the translation from the Danish to the English of “Jeg elskar dig”.
I’m gonna make a short list (I hope so) of the things that I loved about this book:
Kingsley’s sharp sense of humor.
Sam: She is the best bartender/assistant/bestfriend that Kingsley could ever get. I’m so glad she had her HEA.
Mistress Felicia: I can only say this: she’s as lethal as Soren.
Blaise: I loved her submission to Kingsley but I also loved how she challenged him. She had some “glowing” moments with Søren *jealous*.
“Have you ever had sex in the back of a rolls royce?” Now I know how was Kingsley’s first time *smirk*
Grace: Just like The Saint, the story of 20 years ago was told from the present, almost two years after The Mistress finishes, and this time it’s Grace who is listening to the story of the sinners. She was so understanding with Kingsley and they had a very touching moment at the end of the book.
Kingsley and Søren’s memories from St. Ignatius: I fell in love with both of them when I read The Prince and reading more memories of them from when they were teenagers was like christmas for me. A very kinky sexy christmas.
The rebirth of the friendship between Kingsley and Søren: Or is it more like the birth of a new relationship, more than friends, they were family.
I will have to stop here, otherwise this list won’t ever end. The last thing I can say is that I loved The King as much as I loved The Saint. How couldn’t I love it if it gave me more reasons to love Søren *sigh*. It also showed me the real King. The true King who earned his kingdom. I missed Nora/Eleanor, she wasn’t as much as I’d love to, but I’m sure there will be plenty of her in The Virgin. Is it March 31st already? 4 months are a short time, right?
Read the review of the book here. It includes a very sexy book trailer with a lot of pictures of Soren and Kingsley. And I think the song is just perfect to describe Kingsley’s life: DANGEROUS.

This series never disappoints.....
What aspect of Elizabeth Hart’s performance might you have changed?
I don't wish to criticise the narrator of the book but just wish Audible had chosen a male narrator who I believe could have brought more realism to the predominantly male characters in the book. I had read the book prior to listening, love this series, but struggled to identify the characters from the female narration.
