Publisher's Summary

Will and Evanlyn are bound for Skandia as the captives of the fearsome Skandian wolfship captain, Erak. Halt has sworn to rescue Will, and he will do anything to keep his promise – even defy his King. Expelled from the Rangers, Halt is joined by Horace as he travels through Gallica towards Skandia. On their way, they are constantly challenged by freelance knights – otherwise known as thieving thugs. Horace knows a thing or two about combat, though, and he soon begins to attract the attention of knights and warlords for miles around with his uncanny skill. But will they be in time to rescue Will from a life of slavery?

Too short

So the book was too short for the price paid and still there,s that dam awful noise between chapters. Just cut the music and get on with the story. It’s only 1/3rd the size of other books which is a real turn off.

Cheers
Wendy

Excellent Story, interesting accents.

Excellent story and one of my favourites in the series but I'm not a fan of William Zappa's interpretation of the Skandian accent. I enjoy his other character voices but Erak sounds more like the Swedish chef and less like the harsh but good hearted warrior he is portrayed as in the books. overall the Skandian accents make them sound somewhat slow or childish. Top marks for the rest of the performance though.

TRA Book 3

My only complaint is the “music” between chapters! Argh! Other than that, another wonderful Rangers Apprentice Book.

Pity.

It is a pity the reader mispronounces so many words, and for placing the emphasis in a sentence incorrectly, that too spoils the story. Whose fault is it - the reader or the producer
