Publisher's Summary

Assassination can be a messy business, especially if you’re having a bad day.

Dan Jones is the ultimate problem solver, the hitman for crime boss Fliss Bauer.

Fliss has a rival, Kalindra Dallin. She runs a particularly unpleasant planet. Dan is told to arrange her demise. It’s just another job; until a random event means that it all goes horribly wrong.

To save his skin, Dan is forced to try again, only this time he has to work with a partner. He doesn’t want to but it’s the only chance he’s going to get; if he wants to put things right.

Can the hitman and the thief get the job done, more importantly, can they keep each other alive?

Great storyline

Well written story with great character development. I wasn't a big fan of the language the author used to describe the female characters, finding it a bit misogynistic at times. It felt like the books as written more for a male audience. I did enjoy the attention to detail and was invested in the characters fate.

Lots of Surprises

It’s war in the futuristic underworld as Dan’s boss, Fliss, tries to move against her rival, Kalindra, by having Dan assassinate her to prep her organization for takeover. Unfortunately for Dan, his hit is interrupted by a thief named Lydia being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Because of Dan’s failure, Fliss is no longer certain of his loyalty and forces him and Lydia to make a second try at Kalindra—or else.

The action moves along very quickly as Dan tries to maneuver himself into a position to knock off his boss’ rival, but the reader quickly figures out that there is more going on than Dan realizes. Dee has more than a couple surprises in store that keep the suspense high and the action popping. Dan’s a very likeable character, but odds are he’s a little bit slower than the reader at picking up what’s really going on. You’ll be hoping he can navigate the minefield to get to his happily ever after.

Poor

Poor, the author thinks there are some interesting surprises in the book. But there are none because none of us is as dumb as the main character. it's just poor to below average on all fronts.
no great action, no great surprises, no brilliant storytelling, it's all bland and very predictable. Could also have been written as a non-scfi book ( probably better). it is my worst audible purchase ever.
To be clear the narrator is fine its juts the story that sucks
