Publisher's Summary

Rich boys don’t fraternize with the help.
They don't torture the help.
They don't crave the help.

For as long as I can remember, my mom and I have lived on the edge of ruin, so when she finally gets a decent job offer, she moves us cross-country to take it.

Who cares if it means working as a live-in housekeeper for a man wealthier than God? The paycheck is good, and it comes with a roof over our heads.

She even manages to get me enrolled in the fancy prep academy his son goes to - the kind that spits out future CEOs and politicians like a vending machine.

But this new town has a few things my old one didn’t....

Like secrets that could get a person killed, and four of the hottest, meanest guys I’ve ever met.

I might live in their world now, but I am not a part of it, and they’ll do whatever it takes to remind me of that.

We go to school together, live together, and share a dangerous secret, but as far as Lincoln, River, Dax, and Chase are concerned...

I’m just the help.

Author's note: The Help is a reverse-harem high-school bully romance, the first book in the Kings of Linwood Academy trilogy. It contains cursing and sexual situations.

Great book

Unfortunately the narrator on this book is not very good even though as I listened she either got better or I just got used to her. Loved the story and that cliffhanger. Here’s hoping she can get another narrator for the next book.

That Betrayal 😧

Linc, Dax, Chase, and River have just made an enemy of Harlow. How can she ever forgive this 4 boys who have tormented her and whom she came to eventually care for. Looking forward to finishing the series and see how Harlow can forgive and maybe possible love these guys again.

Uhhhh this author must watch kdramas

If the kdrama heirs and boys over flowers were to have a baby, this would be the product. It's too similar to be a coincidence. It's an interesting book though.

Wow!

Callie Rose is my new absolute favorite Author. I am not totally sure how she comes up with the storylines of these books, but they are absolutely amazing. All 3 books in 3 whole days. I listened every minute I was awake.

Book 1: I was absolutely in love with Harlow from the beginning. She was sweet and feisty in the best way. Lincoln seems like an absolute douche in the beginning, and so do all the other kings, but Callie has a way of forcing you to live them regardless of their awfulness. River is my absolute favorite! This series, and honestly anything else from Callie Rose is a MUST read!

Awesome Story & Audible Listen🎧 Captivating!

Callie Rose does it again, she creates and delivers another great novel and series. She is a master at writing reverse harem bully romance stories that captivate both my heart and my mind. “The Help” starts off with Harlow moving from her home in Arizona, Mom has a new job in Connecticut as an Executive Housekeeper for a wealthy family. Whey they arrive at their new place they are greeted by her new employer, Samuel Black, they also meet his son Lincoln who is Harlow’s age. He is not very friendly to her and his rudeness continues when his friends, River, Dax and Chase arrive. These four are known as the “Kings of Linwood Academy” Harlow’s new school. Their rude behavior continues, they embarrass and humiliate her and basically put a target on her back. I loved how strong Harlow was and how she would not let these bullies break her. Also loved how Lincoln starts to warm up to Harlow and the four kings start to become protective of her. There is never a dull moment in this book, in addition to the beginning of a hot RH romance, there is plenty of drama, angst, action, mystery, thrilling suspense and some mind-blowing twists. Callie Rose keeps you on your toes and just when you think you figured things out she manages to pull the rug right out from under you with a “WTH” twist and ending. Thank you for another awesome story!

I listened to the Audible edition, Amanda Stribling is a fabulous narrator and voice artist. She brings these characters to life giving each their own voice and personality. She does an awesome job capturing and projecting the characters emotions as well as the drama of the story into her performance. She is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another great listen🎧

The narration was fantastic!!

The performance made the book amazing. The story was really good. It is as described a high school bully romance. I love interaction with all the characters. I found the mom a little off in beginning. I love how strong Harlow. I did find it bit dramatic but that is to expected.

One of the best HS bully romance out there!

I love this series! What a first book! From the start theres so much to draw you into this book. I love how much is involved in this book. It’s not just about the romance, that though was amazing and there was so much chemistry between the characters. I haven’t read an RH before and I didn’t think I was going to like it but this was off the charts good. There’s secrets and mysteries to unfold that I can’t wait to read about in the next books. The narration was wonderful! I loved listening to this audiobook.

Excellent Listen

This is a perfect book for New Adults readers/listeners and still enjoyable by adults. The premises for the reverse-harem storyline is interesting, where the new girl in town falls with her bullies. The book is well-written, with an appealing plot and captivating characters. Amanda Stribling's narration is wonderful, her telling draws you further into the story. Overall, I really enjoyed this audiobook and look forward to the second instalment.

Could have been a home run...

So, I feel like I should premise this with saying that I have a huge obsession with covers. I'll often make snap decisions based on just the cover without reading a single word. That is what happened with this duet. I looked at the cover and I was done. It didnt matter. Saying that, this is the first reverse harem I've ever listened too!! It's funny because I don't like bully romances and this one kind of has that feel and it goes that way for a while but I don't buy it. Something happened to make them all come together and it changed everything for them.

There was a few things I don't exactly understand... I thought a RH was when 1 woman and several guys had relations. There was kissing but it didn't really feel like a group thing so I'm not sure I'm sold with that genre. I actually was more pulled into the thriller/suspense of this story than the romance of it. There was a build up and tension. It was my favorite part of the book actually. I feel like CLlie Rose could have taken this book on a slightly different path and it would be even better, IMO anyway. The writing and development was really there.

The narrator, Amanda Stribling did a great job. Since we really only have Harlow's POV I think she did really well. I didn't really care for her manly; I hate saying that since they're all 17... they aren't men; voices. I would have preferred she just used her voice instead of attempting to do their voices justice. However, the main chunk is Harlow and she takes care of her perfectly.

My Thoughts on The Help

Callie Rose is quickly becoming a must read author for me. She continues to write these stories that I get completely immersed in. She writes guys I love to hate. Girls I’d kind of like to be friends with. And a story line I never want to put down. This time we have Harlow who's moved to a town of wealth and privilege to work as her mom’s assistant and secondary maid to the Black family. Her very first meeting with the members of the family, especially the son Linc, is in turns awkward, upsetting and a catalyst that turns her whole world upside down. She meets Linc’s best friends who are equally frustrating if in different ways. All of these characters bring their own layer to this complicated story and all those layers are important. Harlow doesn’t know who to trust and just wants to get through this year, but things take a tragic turn leading to an ending that even had me floored.

This story was brought to life by narrator Amanda Stribling. She was a good fit for Harlow. She had a slight accent to her voice that I enjoyed. I did sometimes wish for a bit more tone variation for the many guys in this story, but she did a good enough job not to be off putting. I definitely would listen to her again with other books, and I’m looking forward to hearing her in the next two books of this series.

Love it!

I absolutely loved The Help!

I loved Harlow. She’s simple but yet extraordinary. She’s sassy. And she’s not afraid to fight back.

The guys....I want them all. They’re all jerks but the best kind.

And the ending! 😱

Amanda did a great job narrating

The Help

You may think this is your typical Bully to lover romance, but you are totally wrong. So much happens in this book that I can’t say anything without giving a spoiler and yet I want to tell you everything to get me over this book hangover. Gah! I need the next book now.

OMG cliffhanger alert

Harlow and the Kings story will have you hooked and left wanting to know what the rest of thier story is. Harlow is a character that I feel like you just have to love she's strong and has already overcome so much in her life that I'm dying to see how the games are played and booked too. as for the Kings I'm not totally sure how I feel about them especially with the ending here in book one I guess I'll have to wait and see book 2. As for the narrator I feel like she did a really good job connecting with the character in the adder than extra layer to the story really making it come to life. Ok I'm not sure what else to say other than I'm dying to go dive into book 2.
