Great trilogy, just not so much for audio

This trilogy becomes quite confusing on Audible, I do believe this is one of those series that you need to read to thoroughly enjoy. one tip, the female narrator is the past, the male narrator present. I didn't figure that out until book 2. It's a fabulous story and I'm going to listen again as I now totally understand it (in a way I couldn't until the end) there is so much I didn't understand and want to listen for all the bits I didn't pick up.

Inconsistent pronunciation

Everything was fantastic, the way the main character questions whether or not she’s a good person, the power she holds in the present, I want to know how she got to where she is as much as the bard does!
My only gripe is the narrators cannot keep consistency with the pronunciation of a few words. King Vanor, pronounced by Emily as “van-ner,” is different when Will says it, “Vay-nor.” This pulled me out of the story. Also, in the first book, Emily always pronounced what the Osha wore a different way in the first book to how she does now. First book: “Hue-uh” Second book: “Hoo-ah.” This was a big pet peeve and I don’t remember the descriptions of any of the huyah because of the change in pronunciations. Other than that, everything else was amazing!

Great series

At first I thought it was going a bit slow, but because this is quite a unique world the write has created there is a lot of world building to be able to understand the story itself. That being said, the whole series is really good, you can't put it down.

Loved it! (Slow start)

It took me a really long time to get through the first half, I was enjoying it but didn’t feel gripped but the second half was amazing! I absolutely flew through it.
I recommend sticking it out, we’ll worth it!

Yawn - some intriguing moments but too few

I hadn't been overly thrilled with book 1 in the series but I was intrigued enough to want to know where our characters were heading - both Tea and Fox but the obvious connection between Tea and Kalen drew me in. In some ways this intrigue remained throughout this book as these are still strong characters. Book 2 does have some action packed moments that are worth it (mostly in the last quarter of the book), also some humour thanks to characters like Zoya, but it also offers up a desire to see Tea save her mentor and figure out the conspiracies afoot. However, there are really just too many fairly tedious moments and seemingly a lot of repetition - for instance, how many times do we need to hear Tea whinge about not wanting to intrude on her brother's personal life? I still didn't mind the switch between narrators and future /past but sometimes it did get confusing in terms of what was actually happening and I did find myself skipping ahead with the Bard narration because it just confused and distracted me. Not a great read. I have book 3 which I purchased with book 2 - but am much less intrigued to start it at all, which is a shame.
