Mary Coblenz certainly isn't that girl. Two years after "jumping the fence" for the Englischer world, she's returned, unmarried and pregnant. Yet instead of hiding in shame as others in the community expect, she's working at the Honeybee Farm, ignoring the gossips - and winning over Andrew's eight-year-old twin brothers....

Good story - reader, not so good
How did the narrator detract from the book?
Her attempt to do male voices is really rough..they all sound somewhat like an Eeyore type character.
Any additional comments?
Story is good!

Wish the person who narrated the first two of these had done this one. Her male voices were especially not good.

Narrator is Distracting Story is Uplifting
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would recommend the book, but not the audiobook. It is poorly narrated and I really dislike the music at the beginning of each chapter. Somehow, just seems hokie.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I love Emma, she is a kind gentle lady who truly exemplifies Christ love for others.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Judith West?
ANYONE.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
No

Bad Narration/Good Story
Where does The Healing Quilt rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I liked the book but ended up reading over half of it and only listening in the car. The narrator is bad, I will not buy any more books with this narrator. Her voice does not lend itself to the characters and makes the book not enjoyable but irritating.

Quilts and life lessons
This is the third book in the quilting series. Emma and Lamar met after their spouses died. They found each other in their older age and have enjoyed teaching six week courses in quilting, teaching those who God brings to them. Because of Lamar's arthritis, they've taken a house in Florida for the cold winter, away from their Indiana Amish community.
In this book, the class consists of a sullen 14 year old who is paralyzed in her legs because of a diving accident, a young pregnant woman whose husband has just lost his job, an older artist who wants to paint the ocean before he dies from cancer, a busy charter boat owner, a lonely waitress, and a newly retired widowed teacher. Their lives are impacted by a visiting motorcyclist who was in the previous quilting class in Indiana.
This is a relationship book that shows how listening and trusting God helps people with their life issues. Very reaffirming and interesting story lines. I've thoroughly enjoyed all three quilting class books!

Wonderful Story, did not enjoy the narration.
The entire series of books is just wonderful. The stories are well done, though a bit repetitive. The first two books had a different narrator and I enjoyed that person's reading far more than this one. The woman reads very well but doesn't have a range for changing voices. Her man's voice made them all sound like they were old. And you could tell it was an older woman doing nothing more than tucking her chin and lowering her voice. It was annoying. But, the story was great.

Another great story... but...
This is the 3rd in the series I have listened too, and have enjoyed the storyline so far. the first two had a different narrator, but I have to say, I really did not care for this narrator. I mean the woman no offense, but her way of speaking made every character sound like they were complaining. Even her narratives sounded a bit like Eeyore, with the tone going down at the end of sentences. If I was not such a fan of the series I would not have continued to listen. I can definitely recommend the series, but not this particular narrator.

Great story but......
The music between the chapters was really irritating and I much preferred the narrator of the two previous books in the series.
