You know you're in trouble as a reader when you start skipping entire chapters out of pure boredom, and you barely remember characters because they're generic, banal, and you don't care what happens to them - and then nothing happens to them. So, yeah. I can't remember the last time I was so completely uninterested in a novel.
The narration was pleasant, but nothing special.
