Publisher's Summary
Every generation has a legend.
Every journey has a first step.
Some heroes are born.
But most are made.
Follow the epic adventures of Alexander Salamander and his best friend William Brown, an average little boy who transforms himself from the physically ordinary to the unexplained extraordinary. When he learns to move like the animals in the forest, he gains a fluid, free form of strength and agility. This he will desperately need because he is in a Great Race against fierce competitors. Magical animals help him get through the darkest, creepiest forest, just crawling with crocodiles, eels and snakes. William soon learns that it takes more than muscle to survive.

The voices of all the creatures of the forest and that of the narrator help to convey a large range of emotions! From joyful and excited, to scared and unsure of what's ahead. William Locklear as narrator knocked this one out of the park! Ever switching character voices keep all listeners engaged and actively anticipating what comes next!

Packed With Fun
Very cute book and love all the different characters. My daughter will not go to sleep without a bedtime story but most of the books we have from when she was younger are short and over too soon.
