Loved it. Very similar to the Diana Gabaldon Outlander series and very easy to listen to. I need the rest of the series now.

I love historical fiction, I love time travel so of course i enjoy these type books. but I found this to be too similar to Outlander to filully enjoy. the characters are less interesting. Clair being a doctor made the outlander series way more exciting and Mathews repetition in book 3 of the same faith based mistakes, constantly putting his family in danger gets old quick. But it is a good story, taking place earlier than outlander they fall somewhat between the wars that Clair and Jamie deal with so there are slightly new dramas.

The narrator is good, he does a ton of voices, the female ones grind on me a bit. and it's hard not to laugh during the sex scenes listening to the proper English bloke say cock.

Some parts have made me actually laugh out loud, parts have made my chest ache and other parts had my heart feel like it's going to explode due to anxiety. I couldn't stop listening, all 9 books in 2 weeks. already 2 books into her other series.
