Publisher's Summary
The first book in the delicious, icy-hot Campus Diaries series, a spinoff of BookTok sensations Off Campus and Briar U, by New York Times bestselling author Elle Kennedy.
Hockey's golden girl just made a deal with the bad boy . . .
Gigi Graham has exactly three goals: qualify for the women's national hockey team, win Olympic gold, and step out of her famous father's shadow. So far, so good, except for two little things. Fine - a little thing and a big, grumpy thing. She needs to improve her game behind the net, and she needs help from Luke Ryder.
Ryder is six-foot five, built, opinionated, rude . . . and sexy as hell. But he's still the enemy.
Briar's new hockey co-captain has his reasons, though. The men's team just merged with a rival program, leaving Ryder with an angry roster where everyone hates one another's guts. To make matters worse, the summer coaching spot he's angling for with the legendary Garrett Graham is out of reach after he makes the worst possible first impression on his hero. So, really, this compromise with Gigi is win-win. He helps her make the national team, she puts in a good word with her dad.
The only potential snag? This bone-deep, body-numbing, mind-spinning chemistry they're trying to ignore. It's a dangerous game they're playing, but the risks just might be worth it.
Critic Reviews
'Utterly adorable, completely charming, and sexy as hell, The Graham Effect has everything you'd want in a college romance - a grumpy/sunshine pairing, a very steamy 'steam room' scene, and a hockey-playing heroine!' Meghan Quinn
'Sexy hockey player? Check! Brand new series from Elle Kennedy? Check! The Graham Effect is a sexy, fun, delicious read, don't miss it!' Jill Shalvis
'The Graham Effect is peak Elle Kennedy writing - magnetic banter, intoxicating chemistry, and plenty of spice. I devoured this book in one sitting' K.A. Tucker

Second Generation Love!!!
In true Elle Kennedy fashion this does not disappoint!
You fall in love with all the new second gen characters but still get the glimpse into what the OG’s have been upto. It’s a must read

I'm kinda offended by those Aussie accents but it doesn't make or break it.

The Perfect Rom Com Book - LOVED IT
This book was engaging from the start. It had loveable characters from Gigi and Ryder, to the supporting characters. I didn't realise it was connected to the Off Campus Series that I had recently read, until the familar characters Garrett Graham's and Hannah Wells (as Gigi's parents) and her 'uncles and aunts' names were mentioned. It was perfect how Elle Kennedy interweaved the characters. There was great foreshadowing with suprises along the way which were wonderful additions to a great story. It can be read as a stand alone or a continum from the Off Campus Series (their characters daughter). As always CJ Bloom and Teddy Hamilton were incredible in their narration with the exception of Beckett's Aussie accent. As an Aussie I laughed at the attempt but saying that I couldn't stop listening.

Not bad
I'm sorry but the worst Australian Accent I've ever heard! I like most of this authors work but this isn't her best. The Butterfly story too odd for this story. Characters are good.

Such a good book! Romantic, funny, so good
I love this book, it’s so good and great it ties back into the Off-Campus series.
It has good humour and wit. It is quite funny, and had me giggling and laughing out loud throughout the book.
Narrators were great, with the exception of the Australian accent which was not realistic and inconsistent.

Great to be back in the Briar U-niverse
Overall, I liked this book. Although the story seemed pretty clunky at times (there was a bit of insta-love and some jarring transitions between scenes), there was still good character development. There were a few very frustrating points, but they resolved well and showed the growth of characters, especially Ryder.
But holy Mother of all that is good what were those Australian accents! Beckett, the Aussie, being an outspoken best friend of Ryder, got enough lines that my ears were repeatedly assaulted with butchered New Zealand/South African/Refined British Frankenstein sentences. I think the odd word was Aussie. Luckily, I found it hilarious and it gave a lot of comic relief for me.
I really wish more narrators worked with accent coaches, I'd bump this up to 5 stars for narration if they'd gotten the Aussie accent even half right.
Actually, if Beckett gets a book PLEASE make it a duet narration with an actual Australian voice actor.

That Original Briar U
Loved it!
Gigi and Ryder knew what they wanted and went for it.
I really enjoyed how things weren’t all tied up in pretty bows and they didn’t get every success because it felt more authentic.
