This was an unusual one for John Marrs and the last 2 chapters saved the rating I was going to give it. The main characters capability was extreme and far fetched but was unpacked well at the end.

This book was a slow burn to begin with but once you get through the first third, it becomes the most unhinged, delusional game of cat and mouse. First 5 star book of the year for me.

I read & listen to a lot of crime fiction, psychological thrillers etc and I can honestly say I have never hated a character more than one in this book (I won’t say who, no spoilers). Starts a little slow but it’s building up, so stay with it. A really twisted & extreme story of narcissistic personality trait. Well written, well narrated. Recommend.
