Publisher's Summary

The key to spiritual and emotional health is to grasp the truth of God's transforming love for us and then let that reality influence our own hearts and relationships. It seems simple, but we are experts at complicating simple things. Instead of living lives characterized by love we find ourselves trapped in cycles of shame, violence, and addiction that steal our joy and keep us from loving others - so much so that, by all indications, Christians are living no differently than anyone else when it comes to abuse rates, use of pornography, alcohol and drug addiction, and more.

Christian psychiatrist Dr. Timothy Jennings wants to release us from this prison. With powerful examples from case studies and from Scripture, Jennings shows believers who are stuck in addiction, violence, fear, and broken relationships how to experience true freedom through God's transforming love to experience greater health, fulfillment, and well-being.

Some very unbiblical teachings.

Completely condradicts the Bible and Ellen White. The author knows it and doesn't care or at least thinks his interpretations are higher.

One the very best and clearest descriptions of God’s character and the relationship He desires with His children.

Enlightening. A bold new way of looking at Gods use of law and how its been misunderstood in the past. It’s a top 10 book and should be read by everyone and translated into every language.

Enlightening!

The most adequate interpretation of God and His love. Works well at disposing fear, enlightening those who seek a true revelation of who God is through Jesus Christ.

Overreach

The author presents some interesting concepts regarding religious natural law and imposed law. Basically the difference between behaving to stay out of trouble and behaving because it is right.

However in discussing these topics he condemns just about ever religious person in existence . The author also claimed knowledge of and insights into the Bible well beyond the text and established scholarship on the subject.

His ideas would have made an interesting short essay but instead he filled his book space with very repetitive ramblings.

To conclude, good basic concept with poor execution

Inspiring

A wonderful book to listen to again and again. The love and character of God is presented in easily understood language, leaving one to deeply explore their own view of Him.
Knowing God is to experience a relationship with Him. It is there that the heart is profoundly changed by His love and compassion.
Given that we are all influenced by what we take into ourselves, this book is a powerful, positive influence.
A must listen for anyone seeking to know their Creator on a deeper, more personal level.

Love the 7 levels of moral decision making

This book really challenges many established norms in Christianity and encourages us to grow as Christians.

The 7 levels of moral decision making is a really good tool for assessing where I stand personally and what I can do to grow myself or help others around me grow.

the narration was also good. The narrator has a voice similar to Tim Jennings so I often felt it was the man himself speaking.

The part about the sancturarywas quite interesting but sadly also a bit dry. besides that part I felt the book had a really good flow and was a good listen.
