About this listen
Ten years ago, Grace saw something that would forever change the course of history. When evil in its purest form is unleashed on the world, she and others from their religious community are already hidden deep in the hills of Tennessee, abiding by every rule that will keep them safe, pure - and alive. As long as they stay there, behind the red perimeter.
Her older brother's questions and the arrival of the first outsiders she's seen in a decade set in motion events that will question everything Grace has built her life on. Enemies rise on all sides - but who is the real enemy? And what will it cost her to uncover the truth?
For the first time, best-selling authors Ted Dekker and Rachelle Dekker team up and deliver an intense, tightly focused ride through the most treacherous world of all.

I loved the characters in this story as they were all so real but broken. Grace’s journey was wonderful to follow from being fearful to being in the Light and with courage.
Throughout the history of mankind we’ve lost who we were created to be and accepted all the fear of failure and anger and destructive behaviour that only Satan offers.
This story highlights our right to choose and how simple it can be to follow Jesus . I hope other readers are uplifted and encouraged to choose Light and Life.

My only criticism is similar to others, coming from a Christian perspective. Whilst some themes were biblically accurate, there were some very questionable theological points made in reference to 'the light of the world'. Having said that, for entertainment value alone it was a really clean, easy mystery/dystopian novel that I really enjoyed and would recommend others listen to as well! 4 stars only because of this theological issue, everything else is 5 stars from me!
Dystopian delight
