‘Läckberg has made a career out of writing ingenious psychological suspense stories … The Golden Cage tells a nasty tale about entrenched male domination in a supposedly enlightened society; great wealth and the soul rot it can breed; and the payback — oh, the sweet, sick payback of a woman used and spurned, rising up from the discard pile.’ Washington Post

The storyline was ok. The sex scenes however felt as if a 17 year old male had added them in afterward as a joke. They felt really disjointed and out of place with the rest of the story. The author did however capture the relationship between the main character and her husband perfectly but the the sex scenes really didn't add to the story in any way they just seemed out of place.

Having read all the fallback series this very different. I was going to give up and skipped to the end which decided me to continue ( without knowing the ending) disappointed in a few things. They’re were not addressed and it often appeared that the author wasnt sure how we should view the main character. The sex part made the reader more perplexed as to what genre this book was

Good but not great

Nearly gave up on this during part 1 but story switched up a gear in part 2. Narration was excellent but found story mundane and predictable at times. Wasn't really sure how I should view main character and don't think I'll bother reading second book

Great narration not sure about story
