Disappointed!
There are 8 Angela Marsons audio books available of which six are in the outstanding Detective Kim Stone series which are all 5 star suspense mysteries. The Forgotten Woman is contemporary fiction. British author Angela Marsons should stick to the mystery/thriller genre.

So surprised
I loved this book! It's not my normal genre of murder mysteries but I was in between books and this author is one of my faves. I spent the credit and I'm so glad I did. This book is about 2 women from opposite sides of the tracks but have a common bond that seals their friendship. I didn't want to stop listening! The narrator was excellent also!

I'm hooked
I now can't get enough of Angela Marsons but will have to wait for more! I only they I had not survived her sooner. I went with the"name brand" authors who are great but Ms Marsons depth and emotional realism are not comparable. Alison Campbell is just as good so I will pass the time waiting by listening to more books she narrates.

Not what I was expecting
Would you try another book from Angela Marsons and/or Alison Campbell?
Yes
What could Angela Marsons have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
It was too obvious- the whole story. It was unbelievable that Kit changed her life so quickly- wasn't there a waiting list to get in at the half way house? Every plot seemed very amateurish. It seemed like it was written by a high school student in an advanced writing class.
What do you think the narrator could have done better?
Nothing

Compelling
After devouring the Kim Stone series I was keen to try anything else by Angela Marsons and was not disappointed although it is not something I would have picked without the previous connection. I felt one of the players was a bit hard on Kit given the circumstances but otherwise it was a totally compelling story I could stop listening too.

Refreshing and surprisingly inspiring
I found this book in the Crime/thriller section not sure what its doing there. I do not think the cover or title reflect the story. However I found this story surprisingly intriguing and inspiring. The author addresses complex social subjects with sensitivity and insight. I particularly enjoyed the feminist undertones. Most of all I am very impressed that the typical clinched ending was avoided.I found this book genuinely inspiring.

once again Angela Marsons stories held my interest & imagination. Lovely different storyline, having a different slant on addiction. The two female main characters reflected the differences seem in real life but rarely talked about. The end chapters left a positive feel good feeling inside me as we all strive to find positive things to see us through our life. well done Angela

Disappointing
i enjoyed this book. It was a nice story, nothing nail biting and exciting but very enjoyable. Narrator was really good. The problem for me was I thought I still had loads to listen to when the book ended. I checked I had not missed chapters but no I had heard them all. Nothing came together at the end. I was left high and dry with no idea of the outcome of the characters. Feeling cheated after enjoying what had been written I would not recommend this book. maybe the author will finish it one day.
