Left satisfied yet looking 4 the next installment

Kate builds and weaves more magic in each book, yet nothing seems over the top and impossible. It is seamlessly written and narrated so that this world and its characters feel so real as if Kate has plucked them from history. Start from the beginning, get book 1 and venture into a world of myth and legend made real... then you will have to listen or read or both, all 6 books in their entirety.

Kate Forsyth has keep a great pace with this continuing story. The characters are developing satisfactorily and I’m eager for the next one in the series. The narrator is excellent.

Thrilling & enthralling

Great to have the next instalment of the enthralling tales of Eiliannnan dedicated to the adventures of Finn the Cat. Forsyth weaves yet another bold and daring female lead character with a colourful turn of phrase and mischievous charm.

story of finn

Missed reading anything of Lilanthe, Maya and Isabeau in this addition and instead followed the antics of Finn the cat - but hey, it was well done and I liked her. A somewhat immature tomboy but skilled when she needs to be. Good writing and story.

A great series

I have loved this series since I was a teen. The characters, setting and plot all are stellar. The narrator is superb and this is another great installment in series. Another must read/listen from Kate.

Better and Better

I didn't think it possible, but the alchemical combination of Kate Forsyth's writing and Elle Newlands' expert storytelling managed to 'ensorcel' me even further this time around. God, I love Finn. The characters are as rich as any colour on the spectrum, the plot spellbinding and the way Newlands manages to shape shift so uncannily with her voice is every bit as magical as the powers described in these books. Gosh, and what I wouldn't do for Kate's command of the English language and her ability to charm with it. Yes, I'm gushing. I admit, I'm a fanboy, but after one of the most diabolical years of my life this audio trilogy has felt like a poultice. Nothing but praise and gratitude for all who contributed to the weaving of this epic faerie tale. I can't wait for the next one!

A Must Read.

I have read the paperback version of this book more times than I can count and I have loved this series since I first discovered it. I was so excited to see it is finally coming out on audible. The narrator did a fantastic job of bringing the characters to life and speaking in a clear voice. Although the accent is heavy, it is easily understood and really brings the characters different personalities to life. The voices used make it extremely easy to differentiate between each character. I highly recommend this book. If you love a story of magic and sci fi filled with great accents and a gripping story then this series is for you.

Good but the others were better

I have listened to all the books up to this one. This one was not my favorite. I still am interested in the story but this one kind of drags a bit. I think I am more interested in the other characters rather than the ones that are the main focus in this book. The one thing I could definitely do without is the singing. It’s unnecessary and kind of annoying. I am not sure why it was added but for me, it does nothing to enhance the story. I had to skip through a lot. I feel it would have been better if it was left out. The series if interesting and keeps you wanting to know what happens in the next book.

Loved the story

Yes, it’s a different story about Fynn. But is great, and brings together so much of the backstory.

Best so far!

I can't believe how much I enjoyed this book! I was not excited about it when I saw it veered off into Finn's world. I thought about skipping it, and going straight to the next one. I was not expecting to love Finn's adventures more than Isabeau and Iseult's. But I did, and the narrator captured Finn perfectly. She is wild and full of spirit and doesn't take crap from anyone. I think I relate more to Finn than the twins, and I am guessing that is why I liked this book so much.

Definitely loved it and would recommend NOT skipping it, as I almost foolishly did.

An excellent continuation of a grand series

Ms Forsyth continues to bewitch me with her dense, exciting tale. Although I missed Isabo’s presence and story arc in this novel, as well as what was happening with Megan of the Beasts, Maya and her child, ‘Bo’s parents, Margaret of the Thistle, and more, it was nice to focus on Finn and her life. This was an excellent tale.

Regarding Ms Newlands, she is pitch perfect, quite literally. There are songs scattered throughout this book due to its focus on the route of jongleurs, and her voice is quite beautiful. And as always, her accents and chameleon- like ability to slip into each and every character...I must say she’s amongst the best narrators I’ve listened to.

Another good sequel

This book moved along fairly quickly but it was a bit different by focusing on a previously fringe character, Finn. It was good enough that I will finish out the series.

So better than expected.

I didn’t really want a story about Finn as i prefer the Twins, but it was a wonderful conclusion for many of the retinue who gave so much. The narration as always was beautiful and clear with such a range of voices from one person. I am ready for the next story.
