About this listen

Laura Ingalls Wilder is beginning life with her new husband, Almanzo, in their own little house. Laura is a young pioneer wife now and must work hard with Almanzo, farming the land around their home on the South Dakota prairie. Soon their baby daughter, Rose, is born, and the young family must face the hardships and triumphs encountered by so many American pioneers.

And so Laura Ingalls Wilder's adventure as a little pioneer girl ends, and her new life as a pioneer wife and mother begins. The nine Little House books have been cherished by generations of readers and listeners as both a unique glimpse into America's frontier past and a heartwarming, unforgettable story.

We have listened to all the little house books! We love them and we love Cherry Jones! The fiddle is very good and gives lots of character to the story. Overall this is an amazing audio book.

Love this!

Enjoyable, but I didn’t like it as much as the last couple of books. It seemed to be a record of events, but not so much about how they felt about the events. I felt more fly-on-the-wall than next the character, as I had in previous books. I didn’t realise this was the last book in the Little House series. I’m sad it’s over, but I can always start again.

Good, not great
