Publisher's Summary

Freshman Lianne Challice is known to millions of fans as Princess Vindi. But sometimes a silver-screen sorceress just wants to hang up her wand, tell her manager to shove it, and become a normal college student. Too bad that's harder than it looks.

She's never lived a normal life. She hasn't been to school since kindergarten. And getting close to anyone is just too risky - the last boy she kissed sold the story to a British tabloid. But she can't resist trying to get close to Daniel "DJ" Trevi, the hot, broody guy who spins tunes for hockey games in the arena. Something's haunting his dark eyes, and she needs to know more.

DJ's genius is for expressing the mood of the crowd with a 10-second song snippet. With just a click and a fade, he can spread hope, pathos, or elation among 6,000 screaming fans. Too bad his college career is about to experience the same quick fade-out as one of his songs. He can't get close to Lianne, and he can't tell her why. And the fact that she seems to like him at all? Incredible.

Love this Series!

Another great book in this series! There are so many things I liked about this book but can't say without giving spoilers so i'll just say the thing I liked to most is that this book hit a very sensitive subject matter but from a different angle than all of the other books out there. I liked that the author shows us that ALL people can do the wrong thing and not everyone is always honest. I hate that these situation exist in real life but they do. I know that seems vague but anything else will give it away. Great book, Great Series and Great Narration!!!

Good story but...

This is another book in this series that lacks proper preparation on the author & actors part. Even the editor. It's like none of them listened to previous stories. Names are pronounced differently, as well as landmarks. Kudos to the hockey appreciation and details. Male voicing women is annoying.

LOVED IT!! MORE MORE MORE!!!!

I LOVE THIS SERIES!!! I think what I like most about Sarina Bowens writing, is her men...she writes a very kind and considerate male character...they are gentlemen through and through, with the exception of a few that were needed for the story to flow....and her sexy scenes are not filthy...they are just sexy enough! I have really enjoyed this series..and am moving on to Brooklyn Bruisers!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! LOVED ALL THE BOOKS IN THIS SERIES SO FAR!!!

Interesting themes and good romance

This whole series tackles relevant, contemporary themes. Unlike the last book where Bella was dealing with being roofied and harrassed, This book has DJ battling claims that he didn't have consensual intimacy with a school mate. During this time, he also meets with and falls for Lianne, the actress. I loved their interactions as they have a very nice connection and are supportive of each other, even though, of course, there was push and pull because of his situation. She also, was hindered by her status as an actress and we got a look into what that means for a woman being followed incessantly by the paparazzi even when she just wanted peace. It was a good story, well paced and interesting. In terms of the audiobook, Nick Podehl and Saskia Maarleveld were both great and were in prior stories. They did a good job bringing the story to life.

Great addition to the series!!

I love Leanne and DJ Trevi's story. Leanne is Bella's roommate and DJ is Leo Trevi's younger brother. I love that we got their story. Leanne was such an interesting character when she was introduced in Bella and Rafe's story, Shameless. Great college hockey story and very well narrated by Saskia Maarleveld and Nick Podehl, both doing a wonderful job!

DJ! DJ! DJ!

Any additional comments?

Another excellent installment in The Ivy Years series.

We meet DJ in The Shameless Hour. He's Trevi's younger brother and he's caught the attention of the resident movie-star, Lianne Chalice.

Yep, Lianne Chalice has a crush on Daniel Trevi. It's almost too good to be true for DJ. And as much baggage as Lianne has, DJ seems to come with more.

I enjoyed watching these two fall in love. They're both sweet and kind and compassionate. They care what other people think and they'd do anything to make others happy. Lianne is constantly trying to please her manager. DJ is trying to please Harkness AND his family, all while keeping secrets from his friends, family, and Lianne.

We all know secrets don't bode well for relationships, but this relationship isn't like the others. This relationship seems more real, more intense, just more. I'm not sure why, but this whole relationship is a challenge and I think they face each challenge with dignity, pride, and caution.

They aren't in this to quit; they're in it to last.

A Sweet College Drama

This book was a winner for me, I thoroughly enjoyed it, the only thing I'm upset about is the fact that I haven't read the previous 4 books. However it's not necessary to read the previous books in the series, this can be enjoyed and read as a standalone. Written in dual POV the story follows two college freshmen, Lianne (who also happens to be a Hollywood actress), and Daniel (DJ) who both meet at a college get together. Lianne and DJ hit it off straight away, and things are looking good, but things are not quite as they seem. DJ is struggling with a false accusation that could be the end of his college life. Lianne is struggling with her fandom at college and her career choices. Both are in there own private hell, so when they find they have music in common they start spending time together. I loved the characters (a lot), the chemistry between Lianne and DJ was off the charts for me. A sweet college YA/NA light, easy and enjoyable read.
