Publisher's Summary

Amos Decker, David Baldacci's unique special agent with the gift of a remarkable memory, returns in The Fallen.

Small towns which have seen better times are not unusual. But the mysterious events in Baronville, Pennsylvania, are raising the highly tuned antennae of Agent Amos Decker and his FBI partner, Alex Jamison. What was supposed to be a relaxing vacation turns into a murder investigation when two bodies are found in a nearby deserted house.

With the body count rising, Decker and Jamison dig deep to uncover a sinister truth in Baronville, which could be the canary in the coalmine for the rest of the country.

But even the duo's skills and Amos Decker's infallible memory may not be enough to save this town, or them, from becoming the next victims.

Memory Man Meticulously Unravels Mysteries

Love Decker; Jamieson's character disappointingly flat, difficult to follow female narrations; only three voice types.

Pretty interesting

Whilst this story was ok, I did find it a bit unrealistic with too many “bits of luck” & coincidence to be plausible.
I’m not a fan of multiple narrators & found some of the accents quite annoying.

The usual

Our hero once again pieces it all together correctly and with all clues given if you look hard enough.

The sexism is a bit boring, really

I really don't think it would diminish the Decker character at all if the women characters, such as Jamison, weren't all depicted as stupid, helpless, naiive, incompetent, or some combination of those things. It really isn't necessary and is starting to become distracting from the story, especially in this novel. Otherwise, it's a fun listen.
