Absolutely unputdownable: convincing, compelling and ultimately heartbreaking (Erin Kelly)
A very special book - a page turner that is gripping, suspenseful and heartfelt, with a superb ending that delivers twice (Claire Douglas)
A brilliantly compelling and tightly plotted psychological thriller. The characters are real and complex, and McAllister's writing both grips and thrills. Her best yet! (Lucy Clarke)
This sharp, super-readable thriller stands out thanks to its taut plot and characters you really care about
Gillian McAllister lures you into the heart of her characters. She makes ordinary people do extraordinary things in the face of adversity. Haunting. Compelling. And all too possibly true (Jane Corry)
Clever, original and packed with family complications throughout, you'll change your mind time and again. . . and the ending will take your breath away
A heart pounding premise is taken on a journey that is as emotionally enriching as it is thrilling. I couldn't look away from this razor sharp exploration of truth, love and how the past shapes our present. Gillian McAllister is a tour de force, she just gets better and better (Holly Seddon)
The characters are as compelling and complex as the action. It's a brilliant psychological thriller which is even better for Gillian's professional knowledge (Amy Lloyd)
Flawless plotting and gripping from the first page to the last

Story line mediocre but there should be a warning not to listen to it when driving the narrator whilst having a nice voice for a hypnotist not ok for narrating a book. She narrates too softly making everything sound dreamy and almost whispering. She had good accents but made me want to nod off.

The end was a bit of a bummer as I like a happy ending but I guess it was more realistic.

Great story, left you guessing.

Why did the narrator sound like she was whispering? So flat and quiet I gave up, which is a shame as I think the story would have been good

Terrible narration

The story was not engaging and repetitive in nature. The narration made it difficult to persevere. The end was not worth enduring the narrator.

Not her best work
