I know this is a fictional story inspired by the well-known story of Edward and Wallis Simpson. As such it is a very enjoyable book. Obviously, it cannot be completely factual
as no one was privy to private conversations or personal thoughts. That is where the author’s imagination comes in but some facts are indisputable! What stood out to me was the glaring error of stating that Hitler’s 1938 annexe of Sudetenland and the Austrian Anschluss took place during the 11 months Edward VIII reigned in 1936 prior to his abdication. How does an author or editor get that so wrong??
