Publisher's Summary

John the Blacksmith doesn't know what is at the bottom of the stairs leading down from the dungeon. With any luck, he'll never find out. Then one day he has to go into the dungeon to fetch more coal and comes face to face with the dragon that has risen from the depths.

It looks like today John's luck may have run out. Or is it just beginning?

Edith (E.) Nesbit was a master at weaving imagination and real life into timeless fairy tales, with fantastic mythical creatures, princes and princesses, magic, and just the right touch of silliness. The Dragon Tamers is the sixth in a series of fairy tales with a common theme: dragons!

Super cute story!

What made the experience of listening to The Dragon Tamers the most enjoyable?

I absolutely love the sound of the narrator's voice. That, coupled with an excellent fairy tale, made this extremely enjoyable.

What did you like best about this story?

I liked the fact that the town made the ten year old kid into the Mayor.

What about Karen Krause’s performance did you like?

I find her voice is very understandable, extremely flexible, and wonderfully emotive. My favorite voice was that of the dragon. Hilarious, yet so expressive!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Will brains triumph over brawn? Or will they become barbecue?

Any additional comments?

Just want to say that, for a quick 40 minute listen, this story imparted some great wisdom. Good to know, if I ever find a dragon in my dungeon!
