Its words are written to accompany its sibling The Discarded Instrument, a piano homage to Music of the Spheres by Martin O'Donnell, Michael Salvatori, and Sir Paul McCartney. Discarded No More is drawn from a scrapped story component that Music of the Spheres itself was going to have—a story about a primitive human discovering a lost church mode.
