About this listen

On February 13, 2017, two Indiana teenagers, Abigail Williams, 13, and Liberty German, 14, went for a walk in the woods near the abandoned Monon High Bridge.

They never returned home.

Their bodies were discovered on Valentine's Day morning, sparking a torrent of news coverage and social media speculation that engrossed the attention of people around the world.

A grainy photo of the suspected killer walking across the bridge and a chilling cellphone recording of his voice saying "down the hill" captured the public's attention. Numerous possible suspects were brought to the attention of the authorities but dismissed, leaving everyone wondering who could have committed such a heinous crime.

Author Nic Edwards, host of the wildly popular True Crime Garage podcast, was fascinated by the case and for years conducted his own extensive research and commentary. As such he was able to dissect the investigation that included an extensive list of possible suspects, such as a hatchet-wielding lunatic, a kidnapper with unusual tattoos, a murderous pastor, a rapist, and a father and son catfishing team.

Then in late October 2022, local pharmacy technician Richard Allen was charged with the murders. His arrest raised multiple questions about how he was able to evade law enforcement for so long and what motivated him to commit such a horrific crime.

In The Delphi Murders: The Quest To Find ‘The Man on the Bridge’, Edwards and his best-selling coauthor Brian Whitney (You Have a Very Soft Voice, Susan) provide a detailed account of the investigation from the day the girls’ bodies were found to the events leading up to Allen's arrest, and unique insight into the minds of the killer and those who worked tirelessly to bring him to justice.

A very well put together book about this case. Good to learn more about the author and his journey.

Justice for Abi & Libby

A very good book giving insight into the case of the murders of Libby and Abby, two young girls taken away from their families and lives far too soon.

This book discusses the author’s interest in the True Crime genre, his reasons for starting his podcast and most importantly this case. We learn about the case, simile cases, the victims, their families and the multiple witnesses and suspects, including the man ultimately arrested and charged for the murders of Libby and Abby. Innocent until proven guilty. But this book is a very good read/listen and very informative in a very easy to understand format.

Well done

As a regular listener to TCG I really enjoyed this book but was confused when I noticed that chapter 15 is missing and instead it plays chapter 18 then goes back to 16.

What happened to chapter 15??

I only wished it was read by the author, no disrespect to the narrator. As a long listener of the TCG, I was disappointed not to hear the familiar voice.

Great read

Brilliant book about an horrific case. Cheers and thank you Nic 🍻. I knew from the beginnings of TCG that you and the Captain were special humans who truly care about victims and their families.

Well Done Colonel

Could listen to true crime by the reader over and over. Story told very well. The factual investigation was very impressive. Very sad story.

Fantastic first book by Nick Edwards aka the colonel.

One problem I had was there was no chapter 15. in its place it played chapter 18 which I didn't realise until I got to chapter 18 and was hearing it again. I hope this can be fixed soon.

great book
