This book started off pretty good, I really enjoyed the detail about the bends and diving, but I was hoping someone would actually die from the bends, since the book says what a scary horrible painful death it would be... no one even comes close to dying that way.

The monster was underdeveloped, there was not enough detail about why it was there or where it came from.

Overall I think this book had some good ideas but they didn’t get fully explored or developed.

The characters were interesting, I was thoroughly creeped out by Haberly, but I feel some characters deaths could have had more detail or explanation, and the story had great potential that it didn’t quite live up to.
