Publisher's Summary

She was my first love.
She was my first hate.
The very sun in my world tried to burn me alive with her lies and cruelty.
Until I dimmed her light for good....
Or so I thought.

Now she’s back.
Cracked. Broken. Lost.
And for the first time in a long time, I feel free.
Free from our past. Free from my present that suffocates me. Free to destroy her future.

Her misery is my music.
Thrilling. Invigorating. Intoxicating.

For so long, all I’ve done is hate her.
So why do I love her?

Good story - male voice disappoints

The story is well written and explores contemporary themes about meeting people online and the way our digital actions have real life repercussions. If you’re after a whole lot of steamy sex, maybe leave this one. The sex scenes didn’t do it for me. Noah Michael Levine has a sexy voice but it sounds way too old for the 19 year old character he’s reading and that is distracting at times.

The Day She Cried

I don't know what it was with this book, whether the cover or the blurb but I had it on my shelves for the longest time. I would look at and put it back down but this time I thought ok lets do this and wow am I glad I did. The story was not at all what I imagined going into the book but everything you want in a book by the end. Its a great story and 100% worth the read.

Addictive!!

An incredibly raw and gripping tale which had me addicted right from the prologue! The subject matter was tackled so well and my heart sobbed for what Raven, Rome and Courtney all experienced at the hands of bullies but at varying degrees. I loved Rome, he was equal parts scary and swoony!!! Loved Erin Mallon - she does broken heroines so perfectly! Noah Michael Levine was ok but sounded too old to be Rome.

This is K Websters best work to date!

MY THOUGHTS: This is a hate to love story about accountability, healing and forgiveness. Learning to love again after loss. This story was unlike anything I have ever read before, original and unbelievably fitting to today’s society issues. We get a front row seat into the tragic and heart-breaking reality of the effects of bullying and suicide. Growth and development in the characters is intense and confronting, it makes you reflect on how you treat people. This book had a strong impact on me as a reader, showing the ugliness of people’s words and the effect they have on us. It only takes one loose thread to weaken the string making it fragile and easy to break. The last chapter was difficult to read it literally gave me chills, goose bumps covered my skin and I felt heaviness in my chest for all the lost souls who thought they had no other option but to take their own lives. The words, the descriptions, the emotions, it was all so confronting and yet so powerful that I lost my breath for a moment. The underlying message is in this story is loud and clear. Make yourself aware that bullying is a real living and breathing dangerous part of our lives, educate yourself to help prevent it, teach your loved ones to use their voice and be true to themselves and not follow in the path of others and most importantly be kind to others. This is K. Webster’s best work to date and a must read! MY RATINGS: (All ratings are out of 5) HERO RATING: 4 HEROINE RATING:4 BLUSH RATING: 4 ROMANCE RATING:3 PLOT RATING: 5 OVERALL: 5 DO I RECOMMEND Absolutely, it’s raw, real, emotional and heart breaking but so relevant and in true K Webster style is so well executed I was captivated from the start to the end and touched by her underlying message. description Narrated by: Erin Mallon, Noah Michael Levine Length: 6 hrs and 35 mins Erin Mallon’s narration was the perfect match for her character, young, expressive and full of raw emotion. She is brilliant! Noah didn’t work for me. There was nothing wrong with his narration. it just wasn’t a good fit for me, his voice was to mature sounding for Rome’s young character. AUDIO RATING: 4/5

True to her style, K. Webster gives us another mindf*ck of a book but what made this one stand out for me is the semi-normal HEA. When I started I thought this book would be like all the others I've read by this author (btw that's a good thing) but by part 3 I realized how different this book was. I love how we got the entire story and when It ended I was satisfied completely. It's no surprise that K. Webster did it again, she always give me exactly what I need when I finish her books. If I listen to mostly HEA type of book I need these wtf books to help keep me from getting in a book funk and she always does exactly that. The narration was 50/50 for me! Erin Mallon is my narrator crush! She can narrate anything and I would swoon! Noah Michael Levine on the other hand didn't really work for me in this book. He doesn't have the voice of a guy in his 20's so listening to him narrate Rome made his seem way to old. He did the angry Rome great though!

Amazing!

I read this a couple years ago and never posted my review here so here it is now: The Day She Cried is a fantastic story. Once I started, I couldn't put it down. I was dying to see what was going to happen next the whole time. There weren't any lulls either. It had great pacing and was solid all the way through. I loved all the characters...well, with exception of the "mean girl" with the voodoo kitty. I wanted her to get hit by a bus and then get backed over and run over again. I guess that goes to show that she was very well written for her place in this book. The main characters were great though. I loved them. I connected with them. I could feel what they were feeling and totally understand them and why they did the things they did. I swooned hard over main character, Rome, and felt deeply for main character, Courtney. I also adored the dog, Harvey Benjamin. The Day She Cried had some really steamy scenes. Especially their first sex scene. Damn that scene was so hot! I was actually a tad jealous and wishing for some hot rain sex in my life. This book included some flashback memories. Sometimes, I feel iffy about flashbacks in a story because they can seem out of place or like characters aren't moving forward, but that's not the case with The Day She Cried. I loved these flashbacks because they tied everything together really well. They showed us why/how he's able to be drawn to her even after what happened and why there can even be a conflict of him loving someone he hates. There were a few twists but there's this one twist that I'm not going to reveal but it is freaking amazing! AMAZING I tell you! Okay, okay, I will give a few hints: I was making notes throughout and this is what they looked like: Awh, don't do that. Holy crap. OMG No.... Holy f-ing crap! OMG Wow!!!!!! Intense! Awww yay. Love it!! I have so much more that I wish I could say and things that I would love to make note of but I hate when people ruin the details and/or surprises for others, so I'm going to sit on my hands and leave it at this... I highly recommend this book. Without a doubt, 5 stars!

Moving book

Really amazing book. It is what I was expecting and so much more. Really makes you think in regards to online bullying. A story that will definitely stick with you. Also has a nice love story amongst all the heavy issues. Highly recommend but not for a light read, deals with a lot of heavy issues in an excellent way. And love the narration.

Heartwrenching

This work by K. Webster is gutwrenching and sadly, spot on regarding online bullying. Social media has made it too easy for cowards to target a victim and before you know it, gather almost a mob mentality. My advice is to grab tissues and get ready to cry. At first, I almost couldn't listen for this topic is difficult yet I'm glad I continued. Thank you Ms. Webster for a brilliant work that perhaps may just make a difference. One can hope.

No words!!!

This is an amazingly beautiful story of how one act, one moment in time changed the lives of three people forever. This book touches on a lot of real life topics with bullying being in the forefront. The narration was incredible. These two narrators were perfect together they made all the emotions in this book that much more powerful. I highly recommend this listen!!

Heartbreaking and Beautiful

This was a fairly quick listen and I loved it. So sad and so beautiful. It's not an easy story but I fell in love with Raven, Courtney and Rome. I always listen to narration a little fast and this was no different. Thought the narrators did a great job and for the characters well.

Just Wow!

I still have to digest this one. It is tragic and heartbreaking. Yet at the same time I loved the messed up relationship between Courtney and Rome. These two always had feelings for each other, but something happens and now Rome only wants to hate her. What happens between then at first isn't sweet or kind. Rome is ruthless, but his desire for her overshadows how much he should despise her. Erin Mallon really brought on all the emotions. Her voice is always so lovely to listen to. Noah Levine was better in this one as Rome. He is voice had the right pitch to convey his anger and desire towards Courtney.

Whoaaa!!

Where do you even start with a book like this. I guess you start with this book has Triggers so please read the warning. K Webster took a personal experience and wrote an amazing story from it. (BTW We love you K Webster!!!) A love story built from hatred and forgiveness. Major freaking twist that I did not see coming!! Narrators were great with expressing the emotions of the characters (listened to on Audible Escape).
