About this listen
Thousands of students on this campus, and I keep being set up with the roommate I can’t stand.
Felix
One date.
That’s how long it takes for Marshall Harrows to end up on my bad side.
Luckily, I have no plans to see the giant teddy bear again. Except when he shows up as my new roommate, I can’t escape him, and he’s just as irritating as I thought he’d be.
He leaves cupboards ajar and puts empty milk cartons back in the fridge. His bedroom door is always open, I find his underwear on the laundry floor, and he has this whole bashful sweetheart thing going on that I just…can’t…stand.
But the most completely, horribly irritating thing about him is that he’s totally my type.
And my friends won’t stop setting us up on blind dates.
Marshall
One date.
That’s how long it took for Felix Andrews to steal my heart.
The sparky little spitfire is everything I’m not. Confident, adorable, and completely outspoken.
He also wants nothing to do with me. Which is a real problem when I want to give him everything. Including my virginity.
But the more I try to gain his attention, the more I see the real him. The one who doesn’t feel worthy of being treated like anything other than a one-night stand. So I decide to take matters into my own hands.
A total do-over. One night. One date. Where hopefully I can steal his heart, too.
©2022 Saxon James (P)2022 Saxon JamesThis was your classic miscommunication trope with Marshall refusing to out himself as a demisexual and Felix treating him badly after being rejected. Some people will find Felix grating; I saw him as needing to grow up and start to value himself as more than just a booty call … which he does eventually. I found it a little hard to keep track of all the characters that flitted in and out but I always enjoy college romances, I like this series, and I generally liked this story, especially the contrasting size-differences and outlooks of the two MCs. 🎧 Tim Paige does a great job narrating the audiobook!

Having recently read Platonic Rulebook (Book 2 in Saxon's Divorced Mens Club series), where we meet Felix I was eager to read his book.
Felix is a little sassy spitfire that's outgoing and loves to be social and often the centre of attention but he makes no apologies for it. The opposite to sweet, quiet and introverted Marshall, who feels drained in social situations and is adorably awkward. But could one bad date change your life?
The banter and snark is one of the things I love about Saxon's writing, it's an abundance in this book and I'm totally here for it. And it's not just from Felix…though he is too damn cute when he's jealous.
While the story does revolve around the main couple I loved the Felix and Brady's friendship, so often platonic friendships are overlooked or seen as an impossibility. Not just in books but life as well.
I really enjoyed how Saxon has tied in Riley's characters without spoilery content (I haven't read Playing Games yet I'm holding out for the audio) and we also get mentions of future characters as well.
These books might be part of a series in the same world but you can definitely read them out of order, which is what I plan to do with audiobook releases often following the kindle/book.
As always Tim Paige narrating helped me fall in love with these characters and their story.
