Publisher's Summary

Cultivation. Magic. Empowering unwitting animals!

A thousand-year-old cultivator, Drew, is about to ascend to a higher existence. As he begins the process, he finds out he has pissed off one too many demigods. Though he manages to fight off the concerted effort of sect elders and patriarchs...he is slapped away from the higher realms by something.

After an instant or an eternity, he awakens on a lower realm! The air is filled with garbage energy, and his emotions of all things are allowing him to control it. For a cultivator that has spent his existence absolutely controlling his thoughts...that won’t do at all. To regain his place in the cosmos, he will need to create the energy his is familiar with once more...even if it might poison the entire world.

Then again...he could just take it easy and leave all the hard work to his "willing" apprentices.

what is this references?

Story is well fleshed out and the narrator did a good job with the characters.
However all the quotes and references from pop-culture were spoken tragically wrong. Not even going to get into his singing because it was so cringe it was laughable.
Still an incredibly entertaining listen, I recommend you give it a go.

One of my favourite cultivation series

I would recommend this to anyone who likes cradle as a change of pace. I don't really know how to say it but it's like asking why runes are the way they are and using a scientific method to brake them down into there smallest components, It's just cool.

I'm always a big fan at different perspectives on a well established system, like cultivation from the perspective of a dragon/snake/slime/space-whale or a rabbit. And MC is a thousand year old cracked in the head master striped of his power starting over with all the knowledge that comes with that, rather then a weak mc that knows nothing.

Only thing I don't like is not knowing if/when book 6 will be out. It's an ok cliffhanger to leave it at but with all the hate this series gets on Reddit and RR I wouldn't blame the guy if he quit. I like it and recommend it as a fun story to listen to.

Funny and light hearted start

Great book. Felt original in a saturated genre.
Fairly light hearted and chill to begin with, with several key points that kept me interested through past book 3.
1st book is a lot of discovery, lots of fun. 2nd more a focus about developing the characters. 3rd developing the wider world. I am loving the variety of ideas and themes present in the series and am curious to see where it will go from here.
Edit: Book 4 and 5 were enjoyable and a satisfying end to the series. I hold out hope for a book 6 but dont even know if the author is still around. Do check out this and his other series.

magically intriguing

Sets the scene for a good series, while keeping your attention, with witty and interesting twists within the plot.

Love it

OP MC is the best kind of story and this one is no exception. I love the world and the characters. The adventure and care free attitude of the story is great for a nice relaxing read. I feel this story might not be for people who was a roller-coaster ride of emotions with extreme highs and lows that said its for people like me. I love anime and this book does capture that essence very well. Also as a software engineer I feel the the structure of the mind of the MC is very relatable.

it would be fine of it werent for all the slurs

this book a fun isekai/wushia (sorry of I speller either of those incorrectly) with some interesting magic systems and mysteries but ultimately it came across as mean spirited. the world it is set in is dark and sad, and every kind of abuse you can think of is heavily implied if not explicitly described in a way that does not come across as compassionate or loving.
the R slur is bandied about with impunity and at one point something is described using the F slur. i admittedly enjoyed this book despite all that, so it would have been amazing without it, and could still have been obscene without being in kind.
K won't be buying the next book simply because I do not want to give money to the author.
their were a few errors in the recording, most of which sounded like typos, and one of which sounded like an editing error.

seriously?

This is a damn mess. I would only call it cultivation because he uses chi as mana. That's it. Maybe he only read a little cultivation novels? That said the title isn't too far off, seeking the dao is to seek the truth, so I can understand where he was going with this book, maybe...

It's a 1000 yr old person reincarnated into his 3rd life, who talk's like a try hard teenager using words like SHIZZNIT. I've never heard anyone use it outside of 13-14 yr old teenage boys playing online games. The author tries really hard to be funny, but just comes across as stupid rambling.

Honestly I wonder if people listened to another book, this is a bloody mess.

THAT SAID, there are a good amount of the book that is truly enjoyable and its just ruined by literally JUST the MC, the world and everything else. EVEN the cultivation style is decent, its just all twisted by the MC and his attitude.

Same book written differently would be so much better!
